Miranda's pov

Cole made me breakfast in bed. I wasn't that hungry but I forced myself to eat for the baby. I look at the picture on my nightstand. "Where are ya, Jay?" I whisper. I pick up the frame, seeing his smiling face. "Oh Jason, I miss you!" Cole walks in, probably hearing me crying. He hugs me. "We're gonna find him, Miranda. I won't stop looking." He says. I gotta go o the bathroom. I stand up, resting a hand against my stomach. "What... What if he's dead?" I whimper. "Don't think like that!" He gasps walking over. "I'm so scared Cole!" Suddenly I feel a stiff pain in my stomach. It doesn't go away. It increases. Terror fills me. Not now! Not without Jason!!

I get to a fishing dock. I exhaustedly jump onto it, swigging down the last of the water Jayanna gave me. I run to the nearest building in desperation. The convenience store clerk was watching the news. To my surprise, I was on it. "Hey!" I call. He almost falls out of his chair in surprise. "I need a phone!" I gasp, running to the counter. He hands me one and I call the coast guard. There's four guys stranded on the island I came from! One is hurt! We need to get to them!" "We'll send someone to get you right away." I just hope I can find my way back! I get off the phone with the coast guard and call Miranda. No answer. Which terrifies me. I call Cole next. "Hello?" "Thank God! Dude where's Dallas? She didn't answer her phone!" "Holy shit! Jason?!" "Yeah it's me! Where's my wife?!" "I.... Um.... I hate to break this to you... B-But... She.." "What?! What is it man?!" I'm so scared. "She had the baby a little over an hour ago." My heart pounds faster. My baby is here. I missed the birth. "Is she.... Are they alright?" "Y-Yeah. They... They're both healthy." I want to go to them. But I can't. "Tell her I'll be there as soon as I can. First I gotta take a chopper out to the guys. Mike's hurt bad." "Shit. Thank God you're okay." I nod. "I gotta go. The coast guard's here." I drop the phone to the counter. I missed the birth of my child. This is horrible. I get on track chopper, trying not to get emotional.

"When's he gonna get here?" "After he takes the coast guard out to the band and Mike. They're still stranded." Cole says. I hold our precious baby boy. "I was scared he'd never come back. I even thought of naming our son after him." "He's alive. You don't gotta do that." He says, making tears come to my eyes. "What should I name him?" I whisper, looking at the sleeping infant. "I dunno, sis."

*2 days later*

I'm awoken by the door opening. I tiredly sit up. There's a dark silhouette in the doorway but I can't make it out. "Who-" "Baby?" I tense up. "JASON!!" I scream jumping out of bed and running to him. I sling my arms around his neck. "OH JASON! I THOUGHT I LOST YOU!!" His arms shakily wrap around my waist. "D-Dallas... M-Mike... Mike's dead." He shakily says. I stare at him shocked. "W-What..." "He.... W-When... The plane crashed.... He.. He got... H-Hurt.... He... He died of infection before I could g-get to him. I... I failed him." I can tell he's trying not to cry. "Oh God, don't blame yourself." I whisper hugging him. "You tried your damndest." "I... I can't... I can't believe he's dead." He whispers breaking down. My heart's breaking. My poor Jason. I shakily hold his hand. "Do you wanna come see your son?" I take him to the bassinet. "Wow." He whispers, hugging me sideways. "What'd you name him?" "I haven't yet. Waited for you, Jay." Another tear rolls down this poor man's face. "I... I wanna name him Michael." He whispers. I force a smile and nod. "I love it." I say.

My heart is heavy. I can't even be happy about my son. The man that helped me live my dream is dead. I never woulda met Dallas without him. Tully walks down the hallway. "Tul-" I start to say but he hugs me. "I'm so sorry... I.. I wasn't fast enough.. He... He's dead cause a me!" "No he ain't. You tried your best. You saved the rest of us. Mike doesn't blame you man." I can't stand it. I'll never be the same.
