Jason's pov

I grab hold of the rock wall. "Well I wasn't that good at gym in high school.... But coach said I had a lot of upper body strength." I mumble worried. "Do you think we can even do this?" My girl whispers beside me, fearfully. I rest a hand on her shoulder. "We can do this." I say, confidently. "If you need me to slow down just tug on the rope and I'll stop." She smiles. "Ok let's go." Todd and Nathan have vines wrapped around each other too.

*later*

"Ahh! Jason I'm slipping!" I spin around best I can and grab her hand before she falls. We were miles up. The fall would surely kill her. She was breathing hard by the time I got her back up. "You okay?" She nods. "How's it goin' over there?" Todd calls. "We're good." I call back. "Just take baby steps hun, we'll be back on the surface before ya know it." She rests her head against the rock. "You okay?" "Y-Yeah just taking a breather."

Miranda's pov

We get back to climbing. I'm falling behind. The rope is taut. I'm about to pull on it to get him to slow down but then I hear a rip. We all freeze. He turns around, wide eyed. "Babe!! Climb up here hurry!!" I reach a hand up to do it but then the rope snaps. Jason grabs one end and I hold onto the other. His face drenched in sweat, eyes shut tight in concentration. I scream from fear. "Don't look down!! Just focus on climbing." He shouts. I shakily do what he says then some rock crumbles away. I scream bloody murder as I fall.

Jason's pov

"NOOOO!!!!" I slide down the rock side and wrap an arm around her waist. Todd throws down some rope to us. She buries her head in my neck in fear. "I've got you hun."

*later*

My shaking hand finally touches grass. I'm so shocked we made it to the top I almost lose my grip. But I pull myself out and reach in and grab her arms, pulling her out too. We both lay on our backs exhausted. "I'm gonna be sleeping for three weeks." She murmurs. "Where are we?" I gape, looking around. She sits up. "Wait where's Todd? And Nathan?!" She gasps. I look around and notice their absence. "What's going on here?" I look back in the hole. "Todd!!!! Nathan!!!" Nothing. I sit back down. "Do you think they were trapped down there and were already dead?" Miranda whispers. I shakily turn to her. "Like ghosts?" I gape. She nods. "No one was able to help them but they didn't want others condemned to the same fate." That sends chills down my spine. I stand up, helping her up. "Let's go home." She says. We get back home and I board up the cave. And as I'm doing so, I remember the rock grave and the skeleton at the entrance. The skeleton...... Todd. The grave....... Nathan.
