Jason's pov
I got up the next day and got a cup of coffee. I bet Dallas is out with the horses since she wasn't in bed when I woke up. I walk outside and the barn door is open. I wonder what she's doing in there. I walk inside calling for her and found her asleep against the hay, her rope in her hand. "God Dallas you're the weirdest girl I know." I say, grabbing the rope to hang it back up but her grip gets tighter in her sleep. "Silly silly girl." "Don't move." Someone growls behind me. I feel the icyness of a pistol on the back of my neck. My hands freeze up. "W-W-What do ya want?" I choke out. "Which one a ya killed Chad." I stare down at her sleeping body. "I-I-I did." I quickly say, my hands slowly rising in the air. I quickly spin around and rope his hands. He drops the gun and falls back shocked. I smile. "Don't mess with a cowboy who's got ropin' skills." "Huh? Jason?" I turn back around and help her stand up. "Babe, what were you doing in the barn?" "I.... Uh I don't remember." Maybe she was sleepwalking. Who knows. "What are we doing with him?" She asks, pointing behind me. I turn back around and untie his hands. "Don't come back here. Next time it'll be a bullet in the head. Now get!" He quickly runs out of the barn. "Scaredy cat." I say. She stumbles slightly and I catch her. "Ugh my leg's asleep. I seriously have no clue how I got in the barn." I smile and hold her arm while we walk back to the house.

Her brother, Luke, Caroline, and Brantley all came over. The girls worked on wedding plans and us guys drank and hung out. I walked over to the cooler to grab another beer when a paper airplane landed beside my foot. "What the?" I picked it up and unraveled it. An eye for an eye. What's that supposed to mean?
Third person pov
"Hey guys-" Jason starts to say then I hear the sound of a gunshot. All of the others look over at him, a shocked expression on his face as a red line of blood runs down his forehead. His hands shaking as he falls to his knees, the note still gripped tight in his white knuckled bloody hand.
Jason's pov
I wake up in bed in a cold sweat. "No blood! No shot!" I whisper laying back down breathing heavily. God what a horridly vivid nightmare. I feel my forehead but of course the bullet wound is gone. Miranda was asleep beside me, one hand tucked under her pillow and her legs curled up around her. I stare at her for like 10 seconds trying to stop my racing heart. In the end I just lay awake all night unable to sleep.
*the next day*
Miranda's pov
I wake up and stretch. Jason was reading a piece of paper. "What ya reading?" I ask. He looks like he's seen a ghost. "What's wrong?" "Oh uh... Nothin'... I.... I had a bad dream... Haven't slept all night." He mumbles, staring at the sheet of paper. He sets it down and it's a song list. He rubs his eyes. "Are you alright?" "Yeah. I'm fine." He pulls the sheet back and stands up with a slight limp. "What the?" "Damn, my leg's asleep." He mutters shaking it and laughing slightly then he walks downstairs. I get changed into jeans and one of his T-shirts. I walk downstairs where a box was sitting on the table. "What's that?" He looks up from the stove and scratches his head. "Don't know. Haven't opened it yet. It was just sitting on the doorstep. "What ya makin'?" "Pancakes." I open the box with my switchblade.
Jason's pov
I look out of the kitchen and smile seeing her dressed in my T-shirt. She opens the box. "Oh cool! The oculus rift I ordered!" "The what?" I call. She walks in carrying some helmet like thing. "The oculus rift. It's like virtual reality. It's pretty neat." She sets it on the counter. "You look good in my T-shirt." "I love wearin' it. Nice and snug." I set down the spatula and pull her into a hug. "Very snug." She whispers, leaning into my chest. The door opens and my fear spikes up thinking about my dream but it's only Cole. "Damn Eli Young Band took my gig." He mutters. "Ooh that sucks." She says, laying her head in the crook of my neck. "Nah I took one from 'em the other day. And I guess an eye for an eye." My hands completely tense up when he said that. That's what the note said before I got shot in my nightmare. Jeez I need to stop getting paranoid. "Hey ya wanna stay for breakfast? Jay cooks a mighty fine omelette." I laugh slightly. "Jeez Dallas you're makin' me blush." All three of us laugh and I serve breakfast.

Miranda's pov
"Is Jason okay? He seemed super tense earlier." "Oh uh he had a nightmare last night." I say unsure. He was out checking the horses. I was trying to figure out how to set my oculus rift up. Jason walks inside covered in sweat and heads to the stairs. I smile, watching him. "Hey Dallas, I'm gonna jump in the shower then we can grab a bite to eat before Cole's show if ya want." "Yeah sure." He goes to take a shower and I finally get the thing powered on. "Pass me my headphones will ya." He hands them to me. "Hey Miranda why does Jason call you Dallas all the time?" "It's my nickname. He rarely uses my real name which I'm fine with that." He smiles and leans back on the couch. I set my rift down, my headphones around my neck. "Cole, do ya think mom and dad would be proud?" He sits up quickly. "Of course they would." I sigh, missing my parents alot. He hugs me. "They're real glad you have someone that cares so much about you." I smile. "Thanks bro."
