You remembered when you first walked the streets of Berk. Everything made your eyes shine bright with wonder as if you were discovering a whole new world. Everything from the new architecture to the old historical ruins or buildings. You took advantage of your first few days to take a tour. You learned so much from ancient writings from vikings to museums that showed the homes they lived in.

Unfortunately, you knew that your short adventure would come short. You had to get a new job if you wanted to stay in Berk with a roof over your head. You had already found an apartment to live in at the meantime but you have yet to find a job. You applied to only a few jobs and one of them was a family owned cafe that wasn't far from your apartment. You have gotten a call right away asking if you could come for an interview. They said they were impressed with the resume you entered in even all it showed was how well you did with business and people skills. You weren't complaining either way because it was good pay anyways.

Now, here you are answering honestly to the few question a woman was asking you.

"Well, Miss [Last name], looks like you start Monday." Your eyes widen as you have gotten the hint and shook hands with your new boss.

"You mean, I got the job?" you grinned.

Your boss just showed a kind smile and nodded.

You internally squealed with joy. "Thank you so much! This means so much to me, miss..." you trailed off not knowing the name of the owner.

"Just call me Eira, darling, and it is no problem to hire you, Miss [Last name]. I've honestly been needing a pair of extra hands with serving. I'm afraid I'm not like how I was used to be." Eira introduced herself.

You nodded in understatement. "Thank you, though, I'm sure you would've gotten someone better but you chose me, and please call me [Name]."

Your weekend was coming up and you wanted to do something before your schedule would get too full. A part of you wanted to look for internships for any sort of business while another part of you wanted explore more of Berk you have yet to discover.

One step at a time...

You decided to get up and just take a stroll at the central park. You brought bread to feed the ducks at a bench while studying the park around you. There was some statues that expressed the town's pride for its environment. You continued to feed the ducks. You sighed in content.

I think I found my paradise.

You were strange indeed. Your paradise wasn't a cottage right next to a beach. It wasn't in the forest. It wasn't in a field of flowers. It wasn't in front of your computer (even if you spend a lot of time on it). It was in this city, Berk. A city you have admired since you were a little girl. You loved to discover new things and learn about history.

A bark woke you out of your thoughts. You slightly jumped, surprised there was a black lab standing there while he panted. You noticed there was bright red fake leg for his left front and a matching collar.

"You have an owner, boy?" you tried to look for his owner.

He started sniffing the air towards the bread you were holding.

"Oh," you grabbed a few slices, "you want some?"

You held out a slice and he gently took the bread out of your hand before laying down and munched on it. He stood up again asking for more.

You smiled, "Here you go." You gave him the rest of the slices you grabbed and he repeated his actions. After he was done with his snack, he jumped up on the bench with you and started to lick your face in gratitude. As much as he was sweet, you cried out in giggles and in protest.

"Down, boy!" you giggled.

Giving one last final lick, he climbed down and sat right in front of you panting again. You gave the adorable dog affection as he put his right paw on your knee. You couldn't help but noticed the dog was trained.

"Toothless!" someone whistled.

The black lab perked his ears towards the voice and ran to his owner. You saw him run to his owner as his owner bent down to meet him. You saw in a distance his dog jumped excitedly and licked around him. You could hear a distant laugh as the owner started to hold him in attempt to hold still the dog that was still trying to lick his face. You couldn't help but smile.

The dog, Toothless as you guessed, was finally calmed down and the owner looked up towards you in a smile that was meant as a apology but was sincere and in your opinion charming. You smiled back in reassurance and started to walk off back towards your apartment ready to end the day.
