It was barely morning when Henry woke up to the smell of bacon. What's strange was the bacon didn't smelt burnt like he expected his mother to usually do when she was cooking.

Yet.

With that in mind and to save his mother from the embarrassment, he groggily walked down the stairs of his home and into the kitchen.

He rubbed his eyes while he said, "Mom, I thought we went over this before. There's a reason why we have chefs."

"Sounds like your mom is quite the cooker."

Henry stopped rubbing his eyes and blinked at you as you got the eggs out of the refrigerator.

"[Name]?"

"'Morning, sleeping beauty," you giggled at his bed head, "How do you like your eggs?"

"Scrabbled," he mumbled then said louder, "What are you doing?"

You gave him an obvious look.

"Rephrase, why are you cooking?" he sighed while he took a seat at the counter bar.

You shrugged, "I figured it would be nice if I at least help around. I don't like it when I'm staying at another place and do nothing. Besides, your mother said it was okay. She's getting ready right now."

Henry hummed and continued to watch you make the meal. Not too long and when you were almost finished, his mother walked around the corner.

"It smells delicious, [Name]," she commented with a smile.

"Thank you, Mrs. Haddock."

"Oh, [Name], I already told you to call me Valka," she laughed.

"Sorry," you apologized, "It's a habit."

Henry smiled at the friendly exchange between you and his mother. He couldn't help but want to see more of that in the future.

"What's that smell?" Henry heard his father say.

"Good morning, dear," you and Henry smiled at the exchange kiss Stoick and Valka shared, "[Name], here, offered to make us breakfast as a 'thank you' for us having her."

Stoick smiled, "Thank you, [Name], but unfortunately, I'm already running late to work."

"No problem," you hand him a plate of two slices of toast, "I already and went ahead to make you something to go."

Stoick laughed in amazement. "Perfect, thank you." He kissed his wife on the temple and rubbed his son's head, making his hair even more wild than before. You giggled when Henry mumbled a 'hey!' and tried to fix his hair. Stoick picked up the toast and bid everyone farewell.

"I'm sorry about that," Valka apologized.

"No need to be sorry," you dismissed, "He's a busy man."

Henry and his mother exchanged a worried look.

"Henry, why don't you help set the table?" his mother asked.

"Sure," he nodded.

The two of them set up the table while you set up the serving dishes. Everyone took a certain amount and started eating away.

"This is delicious, [Name]," Valka complimented.

"Thank you," you smiled.

After everyone was finished, you stood up to start cleaning up the table. When you and Henry carried the dishes to the sink, the house phone rang.

"I'll get it," Valka called.

Henry turned to you while the both of you started to clean the dishes.

"Thank you for the meal," he said quietly while he looked at you.

You turned to him and looked up to his bright eyes. You breathed, "You're welcome." The two of you stood there looking at each other while your mind wondered with remembrance of yesterday.

"Henry," his mother called. The eye contact was broken and his attention went to his mother. "It's Allison. She wants to talk to you."

Your heart dropped. It felt like the world crashed onto you with the sudden reminder of Henry's girlfriend. You stared at the running water with shock. You quickly finished the rest of the dishes and ran up to your room. You quietly closed the door and stood with your forehead against the wood door.

You closed your eyes as you felt your heart race. Even with it beating, it felt like it shattered. Your breathing was unsteady and your hands shook.

Questions ran through your thoughts.

What were you two? was the most frequent.

Your mind wondered to yesterday when you and Henry were packing bags yesterday at the apartment complex. After the kiss, it seemed to you that everything was in content. You were giddy as he was as well. The two of you didn't kiss again after that but the feeling was still fresh on your lips.

Your hand rose up subconsciously to touch your bottom lip. Then, you covered your mouth  for a choked sob that escaped your throat.

You and Henry should have never kissed.
