Henry wondered what he did wrong.

You wouldn't talk to him. You made every excuse not to. It's either work, studying for finals, or just busy in general. He didn't realize you were obviously trying to avoid him until just a few days ago when you rushed upstairs leaving his mother in your dust from a conversation the two of you were in when he walked in the room.

He didn't know what he did but he knows how to fix it.

And he's been thinking about this for a long time.

He and Toothless decided to go to an old family friend that can help him out.

"Hey, Gobber," Henry greeted when he walked through the glass door that rung a bell every time the door opened. He was greeted with dogs barking and running around in another room he could see through a window.

A blond man with a long blond beard turned around to him and grinned when he saw who it was. "Hiccup!" Henry chuckled when Gobber used his old nickname. "What can I do for you?" He turned back around to what he was doing. Henry could faintly see the dog food Gobber was preparing.

"Need any help?" he offered. He walked around the front counter with Toothless in tow.

"Yeah," the big man said, "There are some bowls that are already made. You know what to do."

Henry did what he's been doing since he was a kid. He used to help Gobber at the Dog Rescue Center. What was amazing about the place was that the rescue center rescued other animals as well and it didn't look like a pound at all. He's been raising and training each animal that came through those doors. He doesn't think he'll ever stop.

After finally finishing feeding all the animals, Gobber thanked the boy. "Thank you, Hiccup, but I wasn't expecting you until later today. What is it you need, boy?" Henry usually comes by the shelter later during the day when he doesn't see Gobber as much, but he needed some advice. Toothless went to play with the other dogs. A pit bull and a Siberian husky mostly played with him.

"I want to give a gift to a friend," he answered, "Have anything in mind?"

"From here?" Gobber inquired, "Well, is it a girl or a boy?"

"Girl," Henry answered bluntly.

"Oh," Gobber hummed teasingly, "So, trying to play the lady's man, aye?"

Henry gave him a deadpan look. "No, Gobber. I just think she needs a companion."

"Why don't you just be with her then?" Gobber continued.

Henry gave him the same look.

"Alright, alright," Gobber chuckled, "Has she met Toothless yet?"

Toothless perked his head at the direction where his name was called. "Yes."

"How is she around him?" he asked.

Henry thought for a moment. "She's fine around him. If anything, she's great."

"Dog person, huh?" Gobber hummed, "Why don't you look around? If you know her pretty well, you'll find the right one for her."

Henry walked into the play area of all the dogs. Some rested in the corner while the others played. He chuckled as he watched his dog play around with them. He began to look around for a dog with character but not too hyper. He thought a boxer or an English bull would suit you but they seemed to be hyper.

Toothless barked getting his master's attention. The pit bull and husky was right next to him staring at the boy in curiosity.
