Imagine you are sitting in your living room watching the episodes of your all-time favorite show - Friends. It is a Saturday evening and you are in the mood for lazing around and relaxing a bit.

All of a sudden you feel your phone vibrate in your pocket. You immediately take it out and see a message.

Hey, I know it's been awhile. I'm back from the tour and have a day off today. Maybe we could meet tonight? - Jun

You stare at the message in absolute shock. For a moment your mind is completely blank not knowing how to respond. You read and re-read the message over and over again just to make sure that you are not dreaming. You are filled with different emotions all at the same time.

When you realize that this is real, you reply back: 

Yes of course. Let's meet tonight.

Jun replies instantly:

Okay, then. I'll be free after 8. The place is our usual. See you then.

When you read it you're overjoyed. You kiss your phone's screen and realize that you had been waiting for this moment for so long.

You and Jun had been friends even before his debut as a Seventeen's member. The two of you had admitted your feelings for each other but at the same time had realized that due to his career you couldn't possibly be together. So the two of you had decided to be just friends. It had been more than six months since you had seen each other.

The last time you had met and talked to each other was before Seventeen's debut. His final words to you before he went to pursue his dream were ― "Y/N, please wait for me."

And now you can't believe that the wait is finally over! You know that after this he will be busy again and after that, there would again be a period of a long wait but that doesn't stop you from being excited about this meet.

You know that it has been more than six months and you should have moved on by this time but you still can't deny the fact that your feelings for Jun have only grown stronger in these six months. You don't even know if you'll ever be able to love any other guy the way you love Jun.

Right now you're on cloud nine. Jun kept his promise after all. He came back and now in just a few hours, you'll be able to meet him. It will be like the good old times.

You hurriedly go to your wardrobe and try to find the perfect dress. You plan to apply some makeup too. You want to look pretty just for tonight. For one night ― just one ― you want everything to be perfect.

You take an hour to dress up and get ready. You still have half an hour with you so you decide to get him something first. You go to a shopping center and after looking through lots of stuff you decide to buy him a perfume so that whenever he wears it he is reminded of you.

Then you head to the restaurant where the two of you used to meet all the time before his debut. You look forward to this meeting hoping that just for tonight Jun would not be an idol but that dorky boy living a few blocks away from your place whom you had eventually come to love.

As you make your way in the restaurant, you spot Jun and you are about to call his name when you see the girl standing next to him. The two are talking and laughing. To you, it seems as if they are in their own bubble oblivious to the rest of the world.

You take a look at the girl and notice immediately that she used to go to your school and was a good friend of Jun back then. You notice that she is looking really pretty. You also see how Jun's eyes light up when she says something.

Then all of a sudden she hugs him. You draw in a sharp piece of air and feel the pang of jealousy and hurt in your heart. The hug seems too long. You feel your heart beating against your chest erratically.

And then she kisses him on his cheek. That is when you lose it all. You turn around knowing that you had seen enough. Your eyes well up with tears of sadness, hurt and longing.

You walk outside immediately as the tears continue to fall. You feel cold and numb and pathetic. You should have known that this was bound to happen. It has been more than six months. Six goddamn months. You feel stupid for thinking that things would remain the same. To think that Jun would still feel the same way about you was nothing but the epitome of stupidity. How -

Your line of thought is broken when you feel someone swing you around. To say you're surprised is an understatement. You're beyond shocked.

"Y/N, you're crying?" Jun asks looking concerned. Clearly, he had seen you walking away from the restaurant.

He cups your face in his hands and wipes a tear but you break free from his hold and take a step back to maintain a distance between the two of you. From his expressions, you can tell that he knows exactly why you're crying.

"Y/N, I'm sorry I―" He begins probably in an attempt to explain things but you cut him off.

"No, I am sorry Jun. I don't know what I was thinking. It's been six months and it's not like we are even dating or anything. You're free to date any girl you want without being concerned about me." You say.

The two of you are standing in the middle of a street. You feel a raindrop fall on your face and look up. Jun too seems to realize that it's about to rain.

"It's raining. We'll talk later then. It was good meeting you again." You say and turn around in order to leave. The rain gets heavier slowly however this doesn't stop Jun from holding your arm tightly and swinging you around again.

"You can't leave like this! You've got to listen to me before you make any judgment!" Jun shouts. "I'm not dating her, okay? We are just friends. Do you understand that?"

You shout back―"You might not be dating her right now but that doesn't mean that you can't like her! She's pretty and cute and she seems to like you too! What I'm saying is that I shouldn't be the reason for you to hold back!"

"But you're the reason why I'm holding myself back! Can't you see?" Jun yells.

You stare at him not able to understand what he wants to imply. The rain is pouring heavily and by this time the two of you are soaking wet but neither of you seems to notice or care.

Jun continues―"How can you not see it, Y/N? You're the one I like! I've always liked you. It's not her; it's you! You're the one for me."

You gape at him not knowing what to do or say. You don't meet his gaze and say―"But why? She's prettier than me, sh―"

"Why? You're asking me why? It's everything about you! To me, you are hundred times prettier than her! Maybe it's your smile which is enough to make my day. Or the sound of your laughter which is the most musical sound I've ever heard. Maybe it's the way you tuck your hair behind your ears when you want something. Or maybe it's the sincerity in your eyes when you look at me. There are millions of reasons why it's not anybody else but you. I'm crazy about you; I've always been! No matter how many things change in my life you're always there. You're my constant. And I'm so, so sorry for hurting you and making you cry."

You stare at him for awhile letting his words sink in. You finally say―"I feel the same way, Jun. I like you too."

You wrap your arms around him and he leans in to kiss you. He deepens the kiss and you find yourself smiling through it as the rain continues to pour.
