As you sit with Irene, scrolling through her Instagram feed, the two of you laugh reading the delusional comments from random guys. Irene is very popular at your university. Everyone knows her--even students from other departments--and she's a major crush of most of the guys. She's pretty popular on her Instagram handle as well and people leave all sorts of comments ranging from how pretty she is to professing their unconditional love for her.

You and Irene have been best friends since as long as you can remember. She's practically family. You have always felt very overprotective of her and you are glad that the two of you managed to get in the same university. If not, you would have been always been worried about her. Irene might be naive, but you know the world is not a nice place.

Even in school, girls had always been envious of Irene as without even trying she was always in the spotlight and the guys were always swooning over her ready to take advantage of her innocence.

"Y/N," Irene says and points to your phone. "You have a message."

You notice your phone's lit up the screen. It's Namjoon. Wanna meet?  He says. You turn back to Irene and ask, "Namjoon wants to hang out. Mind if I go?"

Rolling her eyes, she says, "Your crush is calling you. How could I mind?"

With puckered brows, you answer, "He's not my crush. You know I find the whole concept of dating, relationships and love fickle."

"That's because you don't believe that most people are capable of loving. And I agree. For most people dating is convenience and for some, it might be status. But Namjoon is different. And that's what makes you feel so attracted to him. You are my best friend, Y/N. Don't think for a second I don't know you." Irene states in a matter-of-factly tone.

"Whatever," You reply stubbornly and you get up to get ready. Putting on a sweatshirt and pulling your hair in a messy top knot, you head out to Starbucks.

Namjoon is sitting near the window with a book in one hand and a drink in other. You order a vanilla latte before you join him.

"Hey," you chirp. "Still on 1984?"

He puts down his book and smiles at you showing off his cute dimple. "Yep, couldn't find the time to finish it off this weekend. Remember I went out with my friends? All we did was get wasted."

You laugh and tell him, "Well, even I didn't do much this weekend. Worked on an assignment and mostly slept."

"At least you got some rest. Good thing. Anyway, I wrote a new poem. I thought maybe you could give me some feedback before I upload it," he shrugged.

He takes out his phone and after opening the notes app hands it to you. The waitress brings you your latte and you read the poem as you sip on your beverage. It's a fairly long freestyle poem about a beautiful woman who tends to bottle her feelings.
