Much to your annoyance, your best friends have managed to drag you to the amusement park. For some reasons, amusement parks have never appealed to you. You have always found the rides rather dangerous. Especially those wretched coasters which twist and turn 360° at deadly speeds.
So far you and your group of friends have stayed on the ground eating popcorn and candy floss while simultaneously exploring the huge park. But you are certain that it wouldn't be long when everyone dispersed in groups to sit on their favorite rides leaving you all alone and embarrassed in front of your crush.
You cast a glance over Min Yoongi - the boy you have been crushing on since the freshman year. Even though Yoongi is in your group, you never got a chance to be close to him. You talk to each other but your conversations so far have been pretty casual.
There is something about Yoongi that has always intrigued you. He is quiet but not shy. Though he is not an introvert, he mostly keeps to himself. You have always felt this mysterious aura around him. Other girls never bother to spare a glance for him probably because he is a nerd. And even if some do, it's only because he is good looking.
But you don't have eyes for anyone else but him. It's his personality that you find attractive. Looks are just bonus. Your best friends always tease you about it but you can't help thinking about him all the time.
"Y/N? What do you say?" One of the girls in your group says snapping you out of your daydreams.
"What?" You ask clueless.
She sighs as she realizes you zoned out again. She repeats herself, "We were thinking of sitting on that roller coaster. Since you and Yoongi aren't fans of rides you two can roam around?"
You raise your brows surprised to find out that Yoongi doesn't like rides either. It makes you happy as you realize you have something in common with him. You nod somewhat hesitantly feeling nervous and excited at the same time.
"Alright then. Have fun, you two. We'll meet right here in an hour, okay?" One of your friend says.
"Sure," Yoongi says.
Yoongi stands with you while the others leave happily to sit on the rides. The time you had agreed to come to the park, you definitely hadn't thought that you'd be able to spend time with your crush alone.
"So, you wanna head over to the ice cream parlor?" He asks you.
"Sounds nice." You answer with a smile and the two of you head over to the parlor. In your head, all you can hope for is to not embarrass yourself in front of him. You are a messy eater, especially when it comes to ice cream.
You and Yoongi decide to take a chocolate scoops in cones. After that, you sit on the park bench eating your ice creams in peace while watching people going here and there.
"So," Yoongi begins, "you aren't interested in any of the rides here?"
You shake your head no. You say, "To be honest, they all look scary."
Yoongi chuckles hearing that. You are positive your heart skipped a beat listening to that angelic sound. He looks around at all the huge rides and the people going about merrily everywhere while you stare at him for a little too long.
When his eyes land on you, he looks at you feeling amused. Blood rushes your cheek as you feel embarrassed for stalking him so openly. You ask him, "What?"
He doesn't stay anything instead takes a tissue paper and wipes off the ice cream from your lips gently. The gesture surprises you to the extent where you almost forget to breathe. He gives you a cute little smile and throws the tissue in the dust bin.
You feel your cheeks turning redder.
"What about that ride? Does it look scary to you?" Yoongi questions pointing at the Ferris Wheel.
You take a look at it and say, "Um, it doesn't look that scary but I can't say. Rides are really not my thing."
"Doesn't look scary, right? Then wanna try it? C'mon! It'll be fun." He says.
Though under normal circumstances you wouldhave obviously said no, but with Yoongi asking you just couldn't refuse. The two of you finish your ice creams and then head over to the Ferris Wheel.
Once the two of you sit in the capsule and the ride starts to move, Yoongi moves closer to you and puts his around your shoulders. It makes you wonder the meaning of the cute little gestures he has sent your way today.
As your capsule goes higher, Yoongi intertwines your fingers with his. He says, "Y/N, the thing is I'm afraid of heights. So please don't mind this."
"Wait, what?!" You ask panicking. "Then why did you climb on this thing? I'm not scared of heights but I do feel scared of rides."
He tightens his hold on you and says, "Hey, hey, don't panic. Look at me."
"We both are scared! We are gonna die! Gosh, why did I ever agree to come?!" You can't help but let your anxiety get the best of you. You are absolutely freaking out as you look around and realize that you were stupid to make a decision like this. You are now stuck in mid air and even Yoongi can't comfort you because he is scared himself.
"Hey, Y/N. Focus on me. Focus on my voice. Everything will be okay, alright?" Yoongi says. He tries to sound calm but you know that the height is freaking him out as well.
"Are you stupid?" You cry. "Why would you get on the ride if you are scared of heights? Especially when you know I'm scared of the rides!"
As your capsule reaches the topmost position, he brings his hand to your face and forces you to look right into his eyes. He says, "Because I wanted to an excuse. An excuse to be close to you, to hold you, to feel you against my chest."
You blink a multiple times not able to process anything.
"Y/N, I've liked you from so long and I've been unable to find the courage to tell you about my feelings . You're different than any other girl I've met so far. And I would like to get to know you more."
"Really?" You ask unable to believe your ears.
"Yeah. Why else would I be stupid enough to sit on this Ferris Wheel when I'm afraid of heights? So, would you give me a chance?"
You nod. "Even I've had a crush on you from so long."
He smiles and slowly brings his lips closer to yours. He kisses you and you kiss him back taking in the sweet taste of his lips. You still can't believe that Yoongi asked you out. You didn't expect the day to turn out like this but you know for sure it's one-of-a-kind day you'll never forget.
