As you reach the café, you see Jungkook, your coworker, behind the counter. You quickly go in the kitchen and put on your apron.
"You're late," Jungkook remarks coldly.
You furrow your brows and check your watch. You scoff in annoyance rolling your eyes-"I'm just five minutes late."
"And that happens all the time." He mumbles under his breath.
You don't understand why he's always having temper issues around you. Though you have only been working here for a week, he has made it absolutely clear that the two of you are never going to get along. His behaviour seems inconsistent and doesn't really make sense.
The bell rings, interrupting your chain of thoughts, as a customer walks in. You are surprised to see the familiar face.
"Taehyung?" You hear yourself say.
He is one of the popular guys in school and is in your French class. You don't expect him to know your name or anything and are more than surprised to hear him ask-"Aren't you Y/N?"
You nod a little too eagerly and say-"Yes, that's right. What brings you here?"
You mentally slap your forehead realising that you asked a really stupid question. Of course, he would have come to get a coffee or something.
He smiles at you and orders an expresso for a takeaway. You immediately get him one and after doing the payment he adds with a cute smile and a wink-"Thanks, Y/N. See you later then."
Once he leaves, you turn towards Jungkook in excitement beaming brightly and exclaim wide-eyed. "Oh. My. God. I can't even believe this! I was just talking to Kim Taehyung! And he smiled at me. And winked at me! Did you see that? Isn't he cute?"
He looks at you unfazed and uninterested. He is like-"Cute? You find him cute? As expected, you have a terrible taste in men. Anyways, stop wasting time and get back to work already."
You scowl at him and roll your eyes in extreme annoyance without another word. Soon the customers start coming in and there is the usual rush. You get busy with all the orders.
The rush dies down around 8. There is only one customer in the café. Jungkook is the one taking the order while you are busy with clearing the other tables.
"Y/N? I've to take this call. Attend the customer, okay?" Jungkook says pointing towards his phone. You can sense the worry written on his face.
He immediately goes inside leaving you a little confused but you dismiss all the thoughts in your head and attend the customer.
