"Don't forget to call, or text me!" My mother whined, "You always forget to update me on life as a college student!"

"Okay, mom, I promise I won't forget" I laughed.

"You too Steven! You're like a son to me, and I want to be updated on the rock star lifestyle, every now and then." Mom blushed

"Okay, Mrs. Parker, I'll call you every night when we're on tour." Steven giggled

"Oh, please honey, call me Mom!" mom giggled. "Now get going, you've got a long drive ahead of you."

I teared up and hugged my mother, and father goodbye. Because Steven and I were leaving in a week to start up his tour, this would be the first Christmas I spent away from my family. I knew I would be able to call them whenever I wanted, but it was hard to leave them knowing I wouldn't see them for another 6 months.

"Oh, Baby, please don't cry. You'll make me cry, too. We're only a phone call away! You know that!" My mother began to tear up as well.

I kissed both her and my father on the cheek, and turned to my brother.

"I love you, asshole." I squeezed my brother tightly, never wanting to let go.

"I love you too, Mama Mia." He hugged me back "Now, get out of here. You've got a tour to go on."

Steven and I hopped in the car. I turned the keys in the ignition, and pulled out of the drive way. I looked back one last time at my little house, and my little family. I rolled down the window, with a tear in my eye, and waved goodbye, as my mother called out to me, "I love you guys, have a safe drive and call me when you reach South Carolina! Bye now!"

I turned my attention to driving, and sped up the road.

"Babe.." I heard a distance voice calling to me. "Babe... BABY LOOK OUT!"

I snapped back into reality just in time to swerve back onto my side of the road, and avoid hitting a truck head on. I looked at the digital clock on the dash, and it said 1:27. Since it was dark out, I assumed it meant 1 in the morning.

"HOLY FUCK," I shouted. "Steven are you okay?!"

"Jesus, baby, I'm fine," He was panicing, "Pull over and let me drive."

"No, Babe, I'm fine." I yawned

"Mia, you almost fell asleep at the wheel and got us both killed," he chuckled "Please, Baby, let me drive. We've got a few hours left, and I'm wide awake. You need some rest."

"Ugh. Fine." I groaned, as I pulled over to the shoulder, and dragged myself out of the car, and into the passengers seat. I pulled the seat back far enough, so it seemed like I was lying down. The last thing I heard, before I fell asleep, was Steven humming me a lullaby.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up in my bed the next morning, with Steven's arms wrapped tightly around me. I looked over at the clock, and saw that the time was 12:28.
"Mmmm." I groaned as I stretched.
"Well good morning, sunshine." Steven looked at me and giggled, kissing my forehead. "Sleep well?"
"Mmhm." I yawned and got up.
"You know, next time you're too tired to drive, please just tell me and I'll drive. You don't have to be an alert, and strong, soldier all the time." Steven looked at me warily.
"What?" I asked, confused.
"You mean, you don't remember?" He stared, wide-eyed
"Remember what?"
