Tonight, June 18th, was the last concert of the tour, We were in New Jersey at the MetLife Stadium. We were actually about 15 minutes from my home here in Jersey, so Steven sent a car to pick my parents and brother up, and surprise them, Especially because It's my brother, James' birthday today.
The aura surrounding the band wasn't very bright. It was dark, and a lot of tension filled the room. Everyone in the band was stressed out and exhausted, and as much as they loved touring, you could tell how happy they were that the tour was finally over.
The frustration and tension was too much for me, so I stood up, and walked out of Steven's dressing room, with all eyes on me.
I began walking down the corridor and found a security guard walking with 3 people, i squinted my eyes to try and see better, and eventually they clame close enough for me to see.
"Mom! Dad! James! You're finally here!" I yelled as I ran to them, closing up the distance between us. "Happy birthday James!" I said, hugging him first.
"Ahh, thanks Mama Mia. So where are we anyway? They threw blindfolds on us and took us here and only took them off about 5 minutes ago. I have no idea where we are or what we're doing here." He huffed
"Well... I would send you into that little room over there," I said, pointing to Steven's dressing room, where the band was. "But I'm not sure if I should, so I'll just tell you." I paused, letting the suspension rise.
"Well....?" My mom asked
"Yeah, what is it?" James chimed in. My dad just stood with his arms folded.
"Well.. you're at an Aerosmith concert! We wanted to surprise you for your birthday, and get you backstage passes for their last show." I smiled
"Oh my goodness honey, thank you!" My mom giggled with excitement, and hugged me
"Wow, thanks Mia. I love you, oh my god you're the best sister ever!" James squeaked.
"Thanks, baby." My dad chuckled and hugged me.
"You guys should probably just go in and say hi to everyone, though. Lauren's in there too, so you'll get to catch up with her." I said. I noticed the security guard was, as usual, Eddie. "Eddie, could you just bring them to Steven's dressing room?"
"Sure thing, Mia." He smiled
I continued walking down the long corridor, until I stopped and just leaned up against a wall. I slid myself down so I was just sitting on the floor. Some time later, I heard footsteps coming towards me, but didn't bother looking up to see who they belonged too.
"Well, what are you doing out here, all by yourself, baby?" I looked up to see Steven feigning a smile.
"The aura in that room was just terrible." I mumbled. "It makes me wanna rip my hair out. So stressful. I just needed some time to myself."
"Mia, don't worry, we'll try to calm down. After tonight, the tour will be over, and you can start getting ready for American Idol." He smiled and sat down next to me.
"Please stop feigning smiles. You know I can tell when something's wrong. Talk to me." I rested my head on his shoulder.
"It's nothing. I'm just in a bad mood. Joe's being a fucking douchebag, and Joey's thinking this is all fun and games, while Tom and Brad just don't give a shit. I'm getting real tired of all their bullshit." He sighed. "Sometimes I just wish I could tell them all to fuck off."
"Maybe that's what you need. Maybe you just need a week or two apart from each other. A resting period, you know?" I sighed "Sometimes I need that too, and then I go right back to whatever it was that I was doing, and everything gets better. Like a little vacation."
