A Rock In A Hard Place

It's been about a week since I ran out of the cafe on Steven Tyler.
Since that day, He's called me about 5 times, and sent me 7 text messages. I felt terrible not answering any of them, but I couldn't bring myself to have any contact with him. I knew I was falling for him, and if I heard his voice, or read his words, I knew I would send myself spiriling into the painful abyss that we know as love

as I looked at the clock, I realized it was almost time for my shift at PacSun, so I got ready and went to work.

As I walked into the store, Mary noticed that something was wrong with me, but didn't bother asking me about it. All she did was give me weird looks all day, until it was finally time for my break. Mary decided to take her break at the same time as me because she thought we needed to "catch up"

"So what the hell's wrong with you?" She asked. "You aren't being yourself and it's scaring the shit out of me. Like I don't know what's going on, and you look like you're about ready to throw yourself off of someones roof, or something. Talk to me. Please?" She begged.

So I opened up. I told her all about what happened with Steven.

"...and then I kissed him..." I whispered. "I don't know why I did though, and it scares me. I've never fallen so hard for some one before. It's like someone tied and invisible electric rope around my heart, and tied the other end to Steven.. It's like he's controlling me even though he's not the one in control." I finished.

Mary just stared at me, wide eyed, and in shock.

"Mary please say something, you're freaking me out.." I mumbled.

"YOU KISSED STEVEN TYLER?! AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME?!?!" she half whispered, half screamed.

"Well, I'm telling you now! And that's all you got out of all that?!" I retorted.

"Wait.." She began, "When I was younger, I used to believe in a prince charmin-"

"NO. Don't you dare even begin to say that stupid fucking name." I cut her off. I was getting pissed. I hated talking about love and fary tales and all that bullshit.

"Woah, woah calm down, that's not what I was getting at.. I was saying, how in that Fairy Tale, Cinderella, it was her fate that she and Prince Charming met... Maybe, JUST MAYBE, it was your fate, to meet Steven. I know you might not believe in it. But fate and I have had many close encounters, and I'm a firm believer. Maybe that little electric rope you're talking about, is fate."

I just stared at her, taking in every word she said, replaying it over and over again and just trying to find a flaw in her logic. I couldn't. And the more and more I thought of it, the more it started to make sense.

Just then, her face turned bright red, and she got all excited, as I turned around in my chair to look at the entrance to PacSun.
Because the Starbucks was right across the hallway of the mall, from PacSun, we had a perfect view of the customers coming in and leaving, and just as I turned to look at the entrance, I saw one Steven Tyler, strutting into our store.

"Oh my god, Mary I'm begging you, let me off early, I mean I only have another half hour left in my shift, I can make up for it tomorrow, I'll work a double. just please don't make me go in there, I know he's looking for me. I can feel it." I begged and pleaded.

"Fine, scardy-cat. I'll clock you out, but I'll get a double shift out of you, one day this week to make up for it!" She giggled.

Just then, I sprinted out of the mall into my car, and got home and quickly as I could.
