Damn, what happened?" He asked. I recapped on the story line, keeping out a couple details seeing as Raine and Brad have fallen silent and they're full attention was focused on me. When I finally finished everyone was silent.
"I heard of those... visions" Brad spoke up "Werewolves have them too I never really believed in all this voodoo" Calum glared at him and Brad put his hands up in mock surrender.
"What are we going to do" I asked, ignoring Brad.
"Keep moving, if we stay in one spot there plans will stay put but if we evade them their plans will be foiled." I gave a quick nod of understanding. And we set up for the night, Brad offered, Calum gave him a dirty look. I could tell that Calum would be sleeping with one eye open tonight. I took the first shift so that I would be well rested for tomorrow.
"Shit!" I murmured to myself, not caring if anyone heard me. When had our lives become such turmoil, my thoughts turning back to what I had thought earlier. I choke on a sigh and steer my attention to the job at task. My watch passed without a peep, I woke Calum and silently switched places. I fell asleep in seconds.
"You snore when you sleep, you know" I flew up in the seat, my head hitting the roof as I desperately tried to hit whoever my attacker was, the voice right beside my ear. The attacker turned out to be Brad.
"I was about to—..." I groaned. "Never mind, anything happen while you were on watch?"
"Nope, but mr.grumps over there sat awake for like an hour watching me, not the most trusting aye?" I snorted in return. Calum jumping up from his slumber, assessing the scene.
"It's just us." That only seemed to relax Calum a bit as he shot daggers at Brad.
"I trust nothing happened on your shift?" Calum looked suspicious.
"Not a peep, grouch" he turned to me "is he always this grumpy in the morning?"Calum glared at the nickname. And I ignored the question and shook Raine awake, she sat up bleary eyed and yawned. Although she hadn't taken a shift yet Raine was exhausted and sore, the long car rides were taking its toll, on all of us.
"Are we ready to roll?" Brad asked.
"No, today we are taking a break and going into civilization for some real food" Calum said sternly, looking back and forth between Raine and I. And with that we climbed into the car, Brad chatting excitedly to Raine who only half listened to his rambling. It took just a half an hour to make it to a small town that looked like it came right out of a western movie. It's stores were near collapsing and the dust road that went through the middle of town really gave it that effect.
