Oh god, she knows, she knows" Raine rambled, horrified.
"Calm down, she might have been talking about something else"
"Like what?" The colour was coming back to her cheeks.
"Umm, well the story we gave her was that we pretty much ran away from home, so if she calls like a parent she thinks they might come and take us away." I replied. Raine nodded still looking worried.
"Let's not tell Alex anyways just for safety" Raine said.
"Or Calum, he is worrying about to much already. Let's keep this between you and I we can handle any of her shit." Raine looked flustered but nodded she must have seen how bad Calum looked this morning. The walk back to the house was silent except for the occasional cricket, it was almost dark and the sun was setting. The sky was a light yellowy pink and the sky above was a dark blue. I hoped Calum wasn't worrying about us, he would probably hunt us down if we didn't come before dark. When we made it to the house there was a small bonfire going on in front of he house. Calum and Brad sat on a wooden bench, Calum was checking every corner of the property but Brad was roasting marshmallows on a long stick. The marshmallows goo was stuck all over his face which lit up when he spotted us. He nudged Calum with his elbow, Calum jumped up and looked around until his eyes fell on Raine and I, he looked reliable nod slightly irritated.
"Where have you guys been?" He questioned "And next time take me, I can't stand being around Alex" Calum added quietly.
"Me too, this guy is really annoying and arrogant, he talked for like an hour about how good your but looks" Brad added. I stared at him in horror, Calum looked pissed at the subject being brought up again and Raine looked disgusted. "Why did you bring us to this perv anyways?" Brad asked Calum. Calum looked really exhausted and sad.
"We went to high school together and he was a great friend,we did everything together. Alex was nothing like he is now, he used to be respectful, but people change I guess". Calum looked down. I walked over to him and put a reassuring hand on his back, Calum looked up at me with an unknown look in his eyes, but he gave me a sad smile trying to cover it up.
"Yes they do" I said thinking back to some of my childhood friends and how Raine and my aunts and uncles used to be so close, but when our parents died they just left us for the wolves. We just sat there quietly for awhile, staring at each other. Then the loud slamming of the house door made us all jump, Alex came strolling out with Rachel under his arm and hot dogs in the other.
"Who wants a wiener?" Alex yelled. We all cringed, and Brad slowly rose his hand. He shrugged and mouthed 'I a growing pup' I had to snort at that and also put my hand up, hey I was starving. And soon we were all sitting around the fire eating hot dogs and talking up a storm, well at least Brad and Alex were. Raine and Calum looked ready to pass out.
"Raine, Calum go to bed now." I ordered.
"I will wait" Calum said dutifully, but Raine complied easily getting up.
"Calum you better listen to her, when she orders you to do something you do it" Raine laughed.
"And Calum, you were awake all of last night I can watch everything for awhile and Brad will help." I looked to Brad who was now pouting with his arms crossed but agreed. Calum was speechless, so I pushed him back inside and up the stairs into his room.
"Goodnight Calum, and no waking up and looking around. I'm sure we are safe here, and if someone was to come up those rickety stairs you would surely hear them." Calum just nodded along.
"Goodnight Asha" Calum siad muffled by the pillow
