And we were off, Brad's lean body packed with muscle was easily outrunning a car as he dodged around trees and bushes. I had no clue how he knew where he was going, he must be tracking Raine and I's smell. My hair whipped around my face, the cool spring night air nipping at my ears, it took less than five minutes to get there. We stopped right in front of the mall which was quiet but still open, I leapt off Brad and made my way inside. I quickly made my way to a jewelry shop and looked around until my eyes fell on the perfect thing. A necklace, it was a gold dream catcher with little blue beads and more gold feathers. It was the perfect present for her, I also picked up some wrapping paper and a box of her favourite cookies. Once I had bought everything and bagged it I speed walked outside hoping no one had noticed a teenage girl jump off a huge wolf. When I got out Brad was nowhere in sight, a whine alerted me that he was in a dark alley way.
"Got everything" I said. Looking in the darkness for Brad, he stood a few meters away. But something was different, he stood in a fighting stance and the hair on his back stood straight up. This wolf was not Brad at all, this wolf had red eyes and yellowed teeth. The wolf snapped and snarled at me, I took a few cautious steps back and the wolf advanced. I reached for the daggers I kept on me at all times in my belt, I managed to get one out before the wolf pounced, colliding with me. I fell back, the weight of the wolf felt like I was hit by a truck but I fought back. I slashed the knife out, hitting the wolf in its chest, the long deep gash seeped blood. I felt bad about hurting a human or wolf but it was me or them. The wolf growled and clawed my thigh, I grunted in agony. The wolf sat on top of me, trying to subdue me. Haha, I was tiny compared to the wolf so I wiggled out and sprung up before the wolf noticed. The wolf still blocked my way out, I needed to get around the wolf and find Brad, where the hell is he anyways.
"Brad" I shouted, the wolf flinch, his sensitive hearing must make my yell sound like a scream. The wolf stalked towards me again this time with a deadly glint in his eye, I backed up slowly, limping and holding the dagger out in front of me. The wolf leaned down like a cat about to pounce on a mouse, the wolf's muscles tensed and leapt forward, if I wasn't the one it was attacking I would have thought it was magnificent. You know when people say their lives flashed before their eyes? Well I really felt it, as the wolf's body soared towards me and I prepared for death, the dagger still in front of me. I gave up, ready for death. But the attack never hit me, I opened my eyes just in time to see the real Brad hurl his body at the imposter, knocking him out of the air and ruining the wolf's attack.Their bodies flew into the malls wall, I just hope we can get out of here before someone hears us. I jumped back into action, my dagger at the ready. Brad and I circled the wolf, Brad snarled and snapped at the other wolf. Brad lunged at the other wolf and jumped on its back, I had a hard time telling the wolves apart except for their eye, one red with evil and the other with good.
