Chapter 12

"Hey guys, I'm back!" I called into the gym where Maris and Albert were sitting by the edge of the grotto pool.

"Hey Ryan! How'd it go?" Albert asked me.

"It was good. We beat Brock." I said.

"Good job. Now who's that next to you?" Maris asked me.

"Oh, this is Victoria. I met her back at Boulder Peak. She has come to challenge this gym," I said.

"Alright, well hurry up and go change. I'll take her on first," Albert said.

As I quickly changed into my attire, I hurried back out to see Chansey and Corphish fighting each other as Tynamo was already down. Chansey was down about a quarter of health while Corphish was hanging on barely with an eighth of health left. Corphish was able to hit Chansey with one last Water Gun before Chansey Doubleslapped him into submission.

Albert then sent out Dewott hoping to take out Chansey with some slick moves.

"Dewott use Shell Smash!"

Right away, Dewott shot straight at Chansey with two of its shells in its hands and punched Chansey right in the gut. I have never seen any move like that before. It was clearly effective as Chansey's health dropped down a little bit passed half.

Sensing a small amount of danger, Victoria called out for Chansey to use one of the most devastating attacks that it could ever use. The small earthquake that resulted shook the gym so hard that Albert actually fell into the pool and had to quickly climb out again. The move was Double Edge.

Needless to say, Dewott was wiped out and Victoria had won the battle.

As she quickly restored Chansey's health, I tossed Albert a few of my potions for him to heal his Pokemon up as well.

"Alright, now it's my turn," I said climbing into Albert's place in the arena.

"I have to say, you look cute in your uniform, Ryan," Victoria said as she checked me out. I wasn't in my best shape, but I had managed to get rid of my slightly chunky stomach I had a few months ago.

"Alright, you ready?" I asked.

"Yep. Go, Chansey!"

"Go, Spinarak!"

"Chansey, use Take Down"

Spinarak was hit and was pulled down to half health. As Chansey got closer for a split second, I saw something a little strange. Chansey had two lumps in her stomach pocket. Then something popped into mind.

"Spinarak, use Bug Bite!"

Spinarak before moving quickly sniffed the air. As he shot forward towards Chansey, he hit her and then crawled into her stomach pouch and pulled out a Sitrus Berry. Spinarak quickly ate it and regained all of his health while Chansey was down to three quarters.

"Chansey, Doubleslap!"

"Spinarak, Aerial Ace!"

Before Chansey could reach him, Spinarak was on the roof and was falling straight for Chansey taking her down to only a quarter of health left. However, this blow wasn't enough to stop Chansey. She then got up and used Doubleslap on Spinarak taking him down to three quarters.

"Chansey, Takedown!"

Before I could say anything, Chansey tackled Spinarak and made him faint. However, due to the recoil of her fall, Chansey also fainted as a result.

"Go Mawile!"

"Go Kirlia!"

For a moment, Victoria and Mawile stalled opening the window for us to attack first.
