Dangerous 'Waters'

Chapter 17

It took the rest of the day in order to make it to the city of Sahara Springs and it was too late to get into anywhere.

Setting up camp just outside of town, we all slept soundly through the night.

In the morning, we set out to find the steaming hot gym. Without even glancing, you can sense the Sahara Springs gym from its intense heat. Walking into the gym we saw steam everywhere as the heat got to us very quickly. Immediately, we all saw the magnificent beast that was Groudon as an earth shattering roar came from him and lava started to pour out of the mountain and into the cavities of the gym. Ready to take on the challenge, we were stopped by a bouncer with sunglasses on.

"Excuse me, but those clothes are not allowed in here. You must change into a swimsuit as wearing anything else may cause excessive perspiration and possibly heat stroke," the bouncer explained. "You may borrow one of our swim suits if you do not have your own."

"Alright, lets go get changed," Albert said.

We all went into our appropriate dressing rooms and changed into our supplied swimsuits. Both Albert's and mine were plain trunks, Albert's Blue and mine Black. We walked out with our Pokeballs in hand to find Victoria walking out in an impressive black bikini that fit her in all the right places.

"Looking good," I said with a smile to Victoria.

"You look good yourself," she replied.

"There she is, Anne," Albert said in awe staring up near the top of the volcano in the gym.

We all gazed up to see a stunning blonde girl sitting on the mountain gazing into the distance waiting for a challenger. She was dressed in a flame bikini exhibiting her fit body that was enough to send Albert into a trance. As she gazed upon our entourage, her eyes seemed to lock onto Albert and a smile appeared on her otherwise blank face.

As we climbed the volcano and dodged the fiery outbursts beside us, we reached the peak where Anne was waiting for us.

"So," Anne started with an enticing voice. "I suppose you have come to challenge the mighty Groudon. Am I right?"

"Groudon's might comes only second to the beauty of the Sahara Springs gem," Albert said as he kissed Anne's hand.

Anne blushed at this. "Nobody has ever been so genuine with me. What is your name?"

"I'm Albert and these are my friends Ryan and Victoria," Albert said.

"Well then, Albert. I've never met anyone like you, but I don't date anyone who cannot fight decently in a Pokemon battle," Anne said. "If you can succeed in conquering Groudon, then you will win two prizes." At this she winked at him.

Albert turned and faced the mighty beast. Groudon stared straight at Albert and tried to intimidate him with another impressive roar. Albert remained sturdy without flinching and threw out a Pokeball.

"Go Kyogre!" Albert said.

The battlefield was void of movement as the two stared at each other obviously communicating with each other silently.

As they both ceased this brief discussion, Groudon let out a mighty roar as masses of flaming rocks flew and began to fall on top of Kyogre.

"Kyogre, Water Spout!"

Kyogre shot a beam of water out of his blowhole blocking the falling rocks and scattering them into the lava surrounding the field.

"Groudon, Lava Plume."

Sheets of lava came pouring over the mountain and rapidly approached Kyogre.

"Kyogre, Withdraw and then Surf!"

Kyogre's skin seemed to grow about 3 inches thicker just before the lava began to reach him. Immediately, Kyogre swam in the lava in a beeline towards Groudon striking him straight in the stomach moments later. Anne seemed surprised at this technique and respected Albert's fighting style.

"Groudon, Giga Impact."

Right away, Albert had a look of sheer panic on his face. Kyogre was already down to about half health from swimming in the lava and was slowly losing more as it got deeper and deeper. Kyogre had to make a winning move now or they would lose the match.

"Kyogre! Dive!"

Kyogre disappeared underneath the lava as Groudon continued to charge his Giga Impact. Albert seeing a small molten bubble appear behind Groudon took a chance.

"Now, Kyogre!"

Kyogre sprang out and landed a massive attack into Groudon knocking him into the lava unconscious.

"Interesting battle style, Albert," Anne said as she approached Albert. "I would love to learn more from you. Here is Groudon. How would you like to stay here and train with me?" She was nearly on top of Albert and disregarded his intense blushing.

"Here you go guys," Albert said tossing both Victoria and I Kyogre and Groudon. "I'm going to stay here with Anne for a while. See you later!"

"Well, he hit it off," I said as we stepped out of the gym after changing.

"Definitely," Victoria replied. "At least we have another legendary."

"Yeah, speaking of which, do you know who is the next gym leader?"

"No idea," Victoria said. "Lets see if anyone knows in the next town."

For those a little confused let me set this straight:

Ryan: Rayquaza, Kyogre, Groudon

Victoria: Darkrai, Zapdos

Now, I know that I am breaking my schedule of posting on Saturdays on the second week of my plan. However, I felt that it was too big of a gap in time. With that being said, I plan on posting the next chapter on Saturday.

Don't worry, I'm not getting stuck in a gym leader rut. The next chapter will contain more plot.

Also, I'm hoping to finish writing the story by next week. That way I have it finished before school starts and I can enter the Pokemon Watty Awards.
