Chapter 15
Waking up in the morning, I found Victoria curled up next to me still asleep with her head resting on my chest. Darkrai and Rayquaza were still asleep as well, Darkrai leaning up against Rayquaza who was curled into a ball.
It was about 10 minutes staying like this until Victoria woke up and smiled at me. I kissed her on the forehead and Rayquaza and Darkrai were up shortly afterwards.
"So, what's the plan for today, Darkrai?" Victoria asked her shadowy guardian.
"Well, in order to convince some of the legends to join us, you must both have a complete badge case including the Hall of Fame Medallion," Darkrai began. "So I think that you two should go challenge the third gym."
"HOWEVER, WE LEGENDARIES CANNOT PARTICIPATE IN COMPETITIONS OF POKEMON'S STRENGTH," Rayquaza added. "WE ONLY FIGHT TO PRESERVE THE JUSTICE AND PEACE OF THIS WORLD."
"Alright, well lets go challenge Lex," I said.
Lex was a famous musician as well as a famous gym leader. He was Roxie's friend and band member back before they both went on to becoming gym leaders. He was known for his black hair styled to look like a Luxray's fur. Now he has his own Luxray and electric Pokemon, but still continues to play revival concerts every now and then to keep his legend alive.
It took us sometime to travel back to our home region, but we landed just outside of Ampsterdam.
"I SENSE SOMETHING IS WRONG HERE. THERE IS TOO MUCH POWER PRESENT IN THIS CITY," Rayquaza said. "I'M GOING TO FLY UP QUICKLY AND SEE WHAT'S CAUSING THIS."
As Rayquaza flew off, Victoria and I finally let our Pokemon out as we realized that they never met Darkrai or Rayquaza before. As everyone was getting to know each other, Rayquaza came down with some startling news.
"LEX HAS ZAPDOS," he said. "ZAPDOS TOLD ME THAT SOMEONE CAUGHT ALL OF THE REMAINING LEGENDARIES EXCEPT FOR US AND DISTRIBUTED THEM TO ALL OF THE GYM LEADERS. THEY CLAIM THAT ANYONE WHO CAN BEAT THE LEGENDS IN BATTLE WILL WIN THEM."
"Seems like we will have to accompany you on these battles. If the Pokemon League is going to break their own rules, then we should take advantage of that," Darkrai said.
"It seems like that is the case. However, the fact is that we cannot have a Pokemon battle without registering you two in our iPokes. So, we must capture you both in Pokeballs," I said trying to hide a grin as hard as I could.
"VERY WELL, RYAN. WE WILL ALLOW YOU BOTH TO CAPTURE US," Rayquaza said.
With a few clicks of the Pokeballs, we had two of the strongest Pokemon at our command, mostly. They were both level 70 and we could only truly control them after we beat the sixth gym.
Approaching the gym, we could hear the hum of the amps inside as Lex was probably gearing up to start playing on his guitar. The gym was a large dome that housed a huge concert area where people would come from all corners of the region to hear him and his band play. The stage also doubled as a battle area during the day.
However, the dome was now occupied by a large electrifying bird on a perch high above everything else. That bird was Zapdos and he was staring down at us both intimidatingly and longingly hoping that we could win.
"We've come to challenge you and Zapdos, Lex," Victoria said just before Lex was about to play.
"So, you truly think you can defeat Zapdos and myself?" Lex said with his young and energetic voice. "Well then, which one of you will go first?"
"I will," Victoria said.
"Very well, little girl." Lex said tauntingly. "Just don't be upset when you lose."
