Chapter 11

"Very well done, Ryan," Brock said after the battle. "I see that you have made a true connection with your Pokemon. Even when out of your control, your Pokemon are very capable in battle. Well, here is the Rockslide Badge for defeating me. Also, here is the badge case attachment for the iPoke. There are specific places for each of the gym's badges. If you collect all of the badges, then you can challenge the Elite Four."

"Thanks!" I replied.

"Oh, it's also customary for each gym leader that is defeated to give the victor their favorite TM. So, if I can see your iPoke, I will install Rock Slide for you. ...and there you go! Have fun and good luck!" He said.

"Thanks again!" I replied as I turned and walked out of the gym.

As I stepped out of the gym, I took a look around Boulder Peak, the city right next to the gym. There wasn't too much to do in the city except for look out off of the Cliff. Some of the locals said that the best time to experience the view is at night during a full moon. However, as chance would have it, tonight was a half moon.

Wanting to stay and see this, I stopped by a small motel. Walking in, the place smelled like old cheese, but without any other option, I asked to stay the night. I hurried up and got out of there as fast as I could both to escape the smell and go see the view.

After I was finished, the daylight was starting to drop and stars began to appear. I quickly headed over to the cliff thinking that it would be moderately busy. Surprisingly, there was almost nobody around. The only thing around the cliff was a bench and a person sitting on the bench.

From the setting sun, I could see a wondrous figure of a girl staring out over the rolling hills. She had pitch black hair draped over her shoulders and wore a black v-neck shirt with skinny jeans.

As I approached her, I noticed an iPoke and several Pokeballs in her possession. Clearly, she was a trainer as well.

"It's a beautiful view from here," I said sitting down and gazing off into the distance, trying to act like an anime show. Hopefully, she would play along for a little while.

"Yes it is. The view must be a gift from Arceus himself," the mysterious girl replied.

Score! I thought. She is playing along.

At that moment a slight breeze blew through the area giving her hair that signature flowing hair in the wind that most anime shows have.

"The breeze feels as if the very winds are smiling upon this event," I said.

"Alright, let's cut the chit-chat," she said taking me a bit by surprise. "I'm Victoria. And you are?"

"I'm Ryan," I said with a smile.

"Well, that is the most interesting conversation starter that I've ever heard," she continued.

"Yeah, but that was kinda fun," I said.

"Yeah. So, I'm guessing you just beat Brock and are staying for the night." Victoria said.

"Yep. Same with you?" I asked.

"Yeah. Tomorrow I was planning on going to Maricity and taking on the second gym." She said.

"That's funny, I was going to head on over to Maricity as well tomorrow," I said.

"Cool," she stated plainly. "Do you want to head on out together tomorrow?"

"Sure. Sounds great." I said.

We stayed around just chatting about all kinds of things. We talked about why we were both trainers, our Pokemon, and our true goals in life. I found out that she was becoming a trainer in order to build up her relationships with Pokemon in order to start her own daycare and training service. Also, she had a Mawile and a Chansey. She said that she was naturally a good caretaker, but she needed to improve her training methods.
