Chapter 1

Urgh...

I hit the alarm button.

Stupid alarm waking me up on Saturday.

I slowly got dressed and made some tea. As I was squeezing some lemon into it, I peer over at the newspaper. All I see are stories about some local trainers doing random stuff with their Pokemon.

Annoyed, I threw the newspaper across the room with the pages flying all around the room. I have always been bitter about trainer because I have seen that almost none of them cared about their Pokemon through my job at the local Gym. In addition, I have always been bitter because i have never been able to own a Pokemon. I walked over to the cabinet and pulled out some cereal and grabbed some milk from the fridge.

The truth is that I was never able to save up enough money to at least get started with a trainer career. Pokeballs were really expensive at 200 Poke each and I didn't even have a Pokemon to start with. Those old days where people could just stop by a Professor and get a free Pokemon and Pokedex were over. Now those things cost at least 10000 Poke. And if I can barely afford a few Pokeballs, then the fact of paying for one of those starters is outrageous.

As I shut the fridge door, I saw a page of the newspaper on the ground. Knowing that I would have to pick it up eventually, I grabbed it and began looking at the ads while I poured my cereal. Houses, cars, mattresses, the usual showed up. Then something unusual showed up.

Down in the corner next to a Botox ad, there was a sale at the Pokemart on poke balls. Interested and with nothing really better to do, I pulled on my shoes and walked over to the Pokemart.

As I walked in, I saw lots of aisles of items, many of them filled to the point where a gust of wind might send tons of merchandise tumbling to the floor. Pokemarts have gone from the point of looking like a nice and neat convenience store to a 7-11 that was robbed,

With a bored look on my face, I went down an aisle to the back of the store. I reached for my wallet to see how much money I had with me.

Hmm... 100 Pokedollars.

Not enough to get a Pokeball, I thought remembering the original price of 200 Poke. I sighed as I walked down the Pokeball aisle and saw the variety of Pokeballs, Great Balls, and a few packaged Ultra Balls. Scanning the prices, I took a look at the sale price for the Pokeballs.

Original Price: 200 Poke

Sale Price: 180 Poke

Figured as much. I walked out of the store and onto the dirt road to my apartment. In my head I scoffed at the 'sale price' and shook my head. I should have known.

As I was walking home, I could hear the faint brush of grass near me.

I found this weird because I wasn't walking in grass.

And thus ends the first chapter of my story.

This was something that I started writing a while ago and I just decided to post this as my first story.

For this story, I wanted to completely control how it flows along, so I am creating a made up region with random gyms.

Also, I will be using some actual characters like Brock, but most of them will be made up.

If you guys enjoy the beginning to this story, let me know and I will continue to post more chapters.

Thanks everyone!
