Chapter 14
"Alright Aron, lets actually train now," I said releasing him to fight.
Waiting a little, I saw a Pidgey jump out and sniff the air.
"Wait! This one's mine." Victoria cried out. "I'm gonna catch it."
"Alright. Go ahead," I said.
"Go Mawile!"
Right away, the sky got dark and a harsh wind blew through the forest scaring away the Pidgey. Out of the forest came something that resembled looked like a three-dimensional shadow. The wind then ceased but the sky remained dark as the shadow came into focus. It was clearly a Pokemon of some sorts.
"Greetings you two," the Pokemon said in our minds. "I am the legendary shadow Pokemon Darkrai."
In utter disbelief, Victoria and I exchanged shocked glances.
"Yes, Yes, I know. Very shocking," Darkrai continued. "But now's not the time to be star struck. We need your help."
"Hang on a second, who's 'we'?" I asked suspiciously.
"We meaning Cresselia and myself. She should be here in a second," he said. "The childish Mew has been captured by a group of people unknown to us. We need your help to gather the legendary Pokemon in order to free Mew and put the organization to justice."
"Hey, sorry I'm late," Cressilia said. "That last move sent me deeper into space than I was used to. Did you already explain it to them?" I could have sworn that I saw something dark out of the corner of my eye as she came into view.
"Yes, I did," Darkrai said. "Also, we chose you two because you have shown the most love for your Pokemon that we have seen in a long time and you also knew the story of us that is very rare to hear anymore."
"When you live for thousands of years on end, deep in space, it really warms your heart when someone remembers you," Cresselia said.
"So, since you, Victoria are experienced with Dark Pokemon and you, Ryan are experienced with Psychic Pokemon, I will be beside Victoria and Cresselia will be beside Ryan for the time being," Darkrai said.
"What do you mean by that?" I asked Darkrai.
"Well, because Cresselia really controls the moon, she will have to leave us after we recruit the first legendary Pokemon in order to maintain the cycle and avoid suspicion. So with that being said, Ryan, you may choose who we seek out to join us first and who will be your partner," Darkrai said.
"In that case, I remember reading about Pokemon Mythology and hearing something interesting about Rayquaza," I said. "He's a giant flying serpent right?"
"Yes, and the ruler of the storms," Darkrai informed us. "Luckily, he usually stays in one place or around it at least, but he is also a tricky one to persuade. He will only listen to humans who are pure of heart otherwise they could be either cast out into ocean surrounding his tower or electrocuted on the spot depending on how he is feeling that day."
"Well, it's worth a shot," I said. "How do we get to him?"
"Sky Tower is in Hoenn, so we can't walk there and the nearest port is two cities away. I guess we will just have to fly there," Cresselia said. "Hop on. It won't take long."
It took a couple hours to get to Hoenn, but we finally approached the island of Sky Tower. However, we all got stuck in the midst of a heavy storm and then got tossed back to the mainland by a strong wind.
"This isn't good," Darkrai said after we recovered. "Rayquaza is in a rage. It could take a few weeks at most for him to calm down."
"Well, we have to get him eventually," Cresselia said. "Let's just go and see."
