Caden POV

*knock*

*knock*

I knocked on Gretchen's door a couple times.

"Yes?"

"Do you know your way to my office?" I asked her.

"Yes I think I will be able to find it. Thank you Caden."

"Okay see you there in 5?"

"Sure."

I walked to my office and sat down behind my desk. I straightened the papers that were on my desk as I waited. Soon enough Gretchen made her way into my doorway and she sat down on the couch just to the left of me.

"Okay what would you need to know?"

"Well what time do I need to do the spells?"

"Well the scent masking spell lasts 12 hours right?"

"Yes it does."

"Okay then we will probably have you cast that one at 6:30pm and how long does Maria's protection spell last?"

"That one lasts 12 hours as well."

"Then we'll have you cast that one at 7pm."

"Okay sounds like a plan to me."

"Okay good then. You may leave now."

"Okay thank you Caden." And with that she got up and left.

'Maria could you please come to my office?'

'Yeah be there in a couple minutes babe.'

I need to remind her about tonight. Just to see if she understands and remembers everything we talked about yesterday.

'Yes I do Caden don't worry but I'm still coming to your office.'

Damn left the mind link open. Oh well! At least I wasn't thinking about how beautiful she looks in her sleep or how sexy she is when she's jealous, or how hot she is in her bikini...... She is just gorgeous in every way possible.

"Hey hun!" She said entering the room. She was smiling brightly.

"Hey baby!"

"So you wanted to make sure I remembered everything?"

"Yes I did now tell me what you remember."

"Okay well today is the day when Kale is going to meet here in the backyard and there you will capture him and then question him along with Lindsey and possibly kill Kale. You had Gretchen come here so she can cast a scent masking spell on our pack members so they can hide in the bushes and trees as Kale comes through our woods. You also have her putting a protection spell on me that will protect me from everything and everyone besides my mate so therefore no one will be able to hurt me. I am going to be locked in out room while you get Kale and I am not allowed out until you come get me. Does that sound correct?"

"It sounds absolutely and perfectly correct!"

"Well then can I get going?"

"Not yet."

"Why not?"

"Come here."

She came over to me.

"This is why."

I leaned in and kissed her passionately.

"Okay now you may go. See you later."

I kissed her once more and then she left.

*6 hours later*

Gretchen was mumbling words in some foreign language as she was putting the masking scent spell on the pack members. She finished shortly and I sniffed the air. No scent! Well this is good!

"Great job Gretchen! Now follow me and we can finish this."

"Lead the way."

I had Maria meet us in our room so that Gretchen could put the spell on her there.

We got to my room fairly quickly and we entered. Maria was sitting on our futon reading a magazine.

"Oh hey guys!"

"Hi." I went over and kissed her forehead.

"Maria you remember Gretchen right?"

"Of course!"

"Well she's here to cast the protection spell on you!"

"Okay let's do this."

"Gretchen do your thing."

She started saying words in the same foreign language as earlier and soon enough she had finished.

"Now you see if I try to touch Maria I cannot."

She went to touch her and she was shoved backwards.

"Now Caden you go and touch her."

I went and I had no problem with it. I gave her a tight hug.

"See only you can get her! She will be safe now."

"Thank you Gretchen." Maria and I said at the same time.
