Chapter 19

Maria POV

I crept up to the bed and prepared myself for what would happen after this. I made sure he was still sound asleep before moving the object that was behind my back to my front. I placed it just right and was ready to put the plan into effect. This is going to be hilarious!

Slowly I moved it even closer than I originally planned and pressed the button down.

"HOOOOOOOOOOOOONKK!!!"

I had just blown an air horn in Caden's ear and immediately after I turned and bolted down the hallway. I could hear loud footsteps that sounded like stomping following close behind me. I kept running and didn't slow down. I rushed out the front door, slamming it behind me hoping it would slow him down enough for me to get even farther ahead. Once I had run into the woods for a while I decided to stop and let myself get caught. As i jolted to a stop I saw a figure fly past me. It stopped about 20 feet away from me and I could tell it was my mate.

I couldn't help but laugh at how far away he had skidded. I could see the dug up dirt in the vibrant green grass and you could just tell that someone couldn't stop what they were doing. I fell to the ground from laughter.

"Oh my god! Are you okay baby?!" A worried voice asked me while kneeling down next to me.

"I'm.... fine.... just.... laughing.... too... hard!" I spit out between laughs.

"Well it's not my fault that happened! If you had just woken me up in a nicer way then you wouldn't be on the ground. You know... I would've rather have you kiss me awake then sound an air horn in my ear." He winked at that last statement and I looked down while blushing.

Now I was calm enough to stop laughing and talk like a normal person.

"Well that wouldn't have been as fun now would it have?"

Caden shut up after that statement and just picked me up from the ground. I was placed on his shoulders as he brought us back to the pack house. I had my arms tight around his neck, making sure he wasn't going to drop me. I'm pretty sure I was almost choking him, but it was his fault because I don't like being on his shoulders when I would much rather walk.

"Not a chance princess."

"Are you reading my thoughts again?"

"Of course I am! Oh and by the way you're not choking me at all, actually your arms are fairly loose around my neck."

"Well in that case..." I tightened my arms around his neck just to prove a point. I stayed like this until we got within eyesight of the house and then I made Caden put me down. He was hesitant at first but then I threatened to never kiss him again if he didn't put me down.

"You wouldn't!" He cried out loudly.

"You wanna bet?"

He looked defeated at that point. I was placed on the ground gently and as a reward I kissed him on the cheek.

"I don't get anymore?" Caden asked me pouting.

"Nope!" I replied popping the 'p' in nope. I skipped away heading into the house to go shower.

I could feel my phone vibrating constantly in my pocket. I pulled it out and checked who it was. Lo and behold it was Ashley.

"Hey gurl hey! What's shaking bacon?"

"OH MY GOD YOU STILL KNOW I EXIST!" Ash screamed into the phone.

"Uh.. yeah of course I do! Why would I ever forget about my friends?!"

"Well you've been so preoccupied in the last like two or so that you could've.... Okay nevermind I'll shut up now, but I was wondering if you would want to hang out today?"
