~Jack Frost~

Winter. It arrived again. There were times when I used to care about making the snow days and the small satisfaction of pleasing children.

But not today.

Because today was different.

It was 1822. I had been..alive..for a hundred years, starting December twenty-first. And it was that date on the coldest night in history that I was no longer alone.

It was the chill that made me pursue the frozen city of Arendelle. Usually, this city was known to be the center of cold, frostbitten mountains. But in the center where most of the population dwelled, they enjoyed the luxury of warm weather and lots of sunlight.

So why is it so freezing?

I stood on one of the buildings constructed of wood as I watched some of the commoners bustle by, arms full of fabric to keep them warm. Even during the end of the year, frost shouldn't even litter the ground.

I traveled a bit farther, and started to notice other details. There was a party taking place. Decorations flew by in the harsh wind. One of the fountains was nothing but ice. And the great, magnificent lake that Arendelle was known for.

Completely frozen.

But the lake was preoccupied.

A figure danced amongst the brisk surface, a lavender cape in their wake. My attention snapped back to the ground, where a girl in an olive-striped dress ran quickly against the cobblestone trail.

Her pants could even be heard from my perch, and a man clothed in a white suit struggled to keep up with her. "We need to get Elsa back," She remarked and looked over at her companion.

His face was turning as red as his combed hair. "But it could be too dangerous! Princess Anna, please think this through–"

"I am! For years she shut everyone out, she was alone and probably has a really bad case of frostbite right now! I did this, it's my responsibility."

Elsa? Royalty? She did this?

This was new. I followed them, and watched from a distance as the red-haired couple met in front of a crowd in the square.

"Oh my god–Eugene!"

I glanced beneath me. A girl with chocolate-colored hair looked at me with wide green eyes. Not through me, like others did, but at me.

"Look, he's flying! Eugene look!" Her hands rubbed her skinny arms as she ran up to me. A man with a blue-leather vest followed.

"Are you alright? Do you need help getting down? Or–?"

"Wait, you can see me?"

For once I was glad that I was dead, or no longer needed to breathe like other people. Because no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get any muscle in my body to move. For the first time in my history, I was no longer alone.

She nodded and swallowed hoarsely as the man known as 'Eugene' finally noticed. "Woah! Look at that dude! Wait a minute, does he have better hair than me..?"
