~Elsa~

"Will she be alright?" I peeked over M.K.'s shoulder as she examined Mavis' neck. Everyone had returned, for the most part, and I almost rejoiced when they appeared. Jack was still gone, and that made me silently mourn. I immediately sent Punzie to check for minor injuries on the others while M.K. practiced with Mavis. I had laid her on the couch, in the very same spot I was in this morning when I had awoken beside Jack. Her shoulders rose and fell softly as Johnny squeezed her hand with both of his. "Oh yeah, the worst part's over, Queenie. She should be up and at 'em in a few hours," My eyes widened at the powers of M.K. She had barely been tutored by Rapunzel in the last few days, but was already incredibly sharp in the field of medication. I nodded and folded my arms as I looked down upon Mavis. Her relaxed sleeping form was much different to the one I had seen her in before–her slender shoulders rose and fell normally as her eyelashes fluttered constantly from her nap. She looked fragile to me, like ordinary ice. She could melt from the sun, had a cool temperature to the touch, and was so easily breakable.

"She will be fine, Elsa," M.K. placed a hand on my shoulder as her green pupils stared into mine. "I know," I whispered, as she nodded solemnly, her ponytail swinging back and forth.

"So..where's Jack?" Johnny asked hesitantly, glancing my way. My teeth sliced into my lower lip as I shot a look around the room. His presence was still absent, something I was hoping would change. "I-I don't know," I sat down next to Mavis and played with the end of my braid as I searched the room, my tension ceasing and boredom returning. M.K. had automatically set herself right next to Nod after our little talk, smiling as she engaged in a conversation with Ronin. I hadn't had much time to meet Nod, he was tall, smart, and cared for M.K. like something I had never seen before. Whenever they were together, they were inseparable and optimistic.

My eyelids, now half-closed, looked towards Merida and Hiccup. I hadn't ever noticed how clingy they were before, probably something I missed while I was gone. Merida, one who rarely took interest in any topic besides slaying things, listened patiently as Hiccup explained his new upgrade based on a futuristic show mortals watched. Then, every few seconds, their eyes would meet. And each would go silent, and understanding, as well as admiration and a few other things, passed through each other.

Behind them was Rapunzel and Eugene. My parent's death was caused because they went to see their marriage. It was another reason I always yearned to hear about the occasion. It was something I heard my parents talk endlessly about for hours, and all of the adventures rumored around the kingdom about the 'power couple'. Despite the emptiness inside me at their passing, I found content. During my teenagers years, where most of my magic struggle took place, they stood by one another's side without falter.

"You miss him, don't you?" Mavis' dainty hand enclosed around mine as I smirked. She was finally awake. "I don't know who you're talking about."

Johnny rolled his eyes with a lazy smile as Mavis sat up and studied the room from the furniture to the shadows. "Where's dad?" She asked.

"He went off to the council, they're complaining after all of the fuss with you-know-who," I replied. She sighed as her other hand was laced tightly with Johnny's. "Will they do anything to you?"

My fingers froze over my hair, "...I don't know."

As her mouth formed new words to say, the ground opened up in the middle of the room and Jack flew out, Puss screeching in his arms as they toppled high speeds.

"Jack?" North turned his back on Sandy, who was trying to imitate one of Bunny's outbursts. The two finally met the ground with a bone-splitting crash, and I cringed as Puss let out a hiss. "Where have you been?" I stood and leaned over Jack as he rubbed his head. When he looked at me, something new was in his eyes. Compassion. Mirth.

"Just busy catching up with..an old friend," He mused, and Puss launched out of his lap, dusting himself off and trying to look stern. He flexed and kissed the end of my nose as he returned to his feet, and my face became as red as M.K.'s fiery hair color. "So, I have news," He recalled and strolled aimlessly around the room, posture proud as he confronted the baffled faces. "Our job, or well, you could say job. I call it a hobby since I have other things going on–"

"Frost!" North interrupted. Then Tooth shushed him and whispered into his ear before he finally let Jack continue.

"–but anyways. I feel like we should go out, in the sunlight today, beat up a few plants, and, you know, see what happens. In the sunlight," He added as Puss nodded, "I agree with Jack! He is puny and very inept, but we should listen to him!"

The room was motionless as the IQ of once two sane people dwindled to an empty eggnog glass.

"...Jack..." I tried, "...what on earth is going on?"

"Exactly." He faced me and smile, his perfect white teeth making my flush return.

"What?"

"..Let's just say that I've been informed. On..things." His stare hardened as he tried to give me a hint. "Things, like..how you hate gardening."

Tooth gasped as I gaped at him, completely stunned. He knows.

But how? And what exactly does he know? Apparently enough to make puns out of it.

"Oh. That." I tried to ignore my moment of stillness but my audience didn't. Eugene was forming the words 'holy wacky mother Gothel' silently as he stared between us both. "What about it?"

"I think I found something to make you like it better! Because sunlight–" He emphasized the word, "–brightens up your day, and I think it would get rid of the..bad stuff?"

Jack was giving off more hints. But they missed, like trying to throw a rock into a small puddle yards away. "I don't..understand." I laced my hands together in front of me as I forcefully raised my eyebrows at him. He resumed, "Well, you see, sunlight is very powerful. It's pretty, and nutritious–"

"And burns," Mavis mumbled.

"Yes!" Jack threw his hands up in the air. "It burns! But in this case, instead of the usual causing sunburns and creating tans we never want to see, it burns the bad stuff."

Sunlight. It burns. Jack found Mother Nature's weakness, but how?

Did he meet her?

My lips curled just at the dreadful thought. Maybe not. He seemed too relaxed to be thoroughly scarred by her. I supposed it wasn't how he found out, but how to use it to our advantage. He suggested luring her out of hiding. But that wouldn't work. If we've caught onto it by now, she would probably know of it.

"Jack," I said, "what else do you know about–"

"Queen Elsa!"

All heads sharply turned as Dracula stumbled into the room, halfway through his transformation of bat to man. He heaved as the sharp hiss of his sunburns filled the room. "Drac!" Bunny and Johnny ran to his aid. Mavis emerged from her home of blankets and pillows to embrace her father.

"Dracula? What's happened?" I glanced at his reddened cheeks and sorrowful eyes as they fell on me. The flare of his skin was slowly deteriorating into its original clear marble as his dark robes regained their former shape. "My dear queen," He replied, "I come with terrible news."

"What's wrong? Tell me everything." I demanded fearfully as he coughed to the side. "It's the council, they want to redeem you of your queendom."

Jack looked up, his face bright as his eyes twinkled with a plan. "This is perfect."

A/N: So, many things have taken place. I saw Hotel Transylvania 2 in class (Because my teacher, Ms. Kelly, is amazing) and I can say it's a little late to add anything from there into this story. However, key word there, I am committed so I'm thinking we'll see the cuteness of Denisovich in the next book :) he's adorable! And, even better, he likes Batman!!! But then again, who doesn't? Anyways, stay tuned for more awesomeness and keep being awesome!!
