~1922, Merida~
I was immortal. An infinite being, with the luxury of living forever without the scaring of age. The only thing to dampen my mood was my family.
I stood in the large circle of giant stones that took up most of my mortal life, and stared at the remains of my family. Most of them were gone, turned into nothing but wisps that said hello to me everyday. Because of this I was luckier than most–other immortals didn't have a family, or in some cases, didn't remember them.
There was only one that was different. My mother. After her death, she had been resurrected as a bear, and never left my side. She was off in the woods now, probably chasing my father.
The clearing was desolate and overgrown. I had tried to take care of it over the years, without any success. The large pine trees had thin, climbable branches that ended in a clump of green leaves. Moss and fungus lingered on the damp bark. Mist rolled off the tangled grass embedded with dew, which ended when the towering gray stones with runes rose from the ground.
I glanced up, and heard a large roar. Above, wisps of dark rain clouds parted for a dark blot who raced through the sky and landed behind me.
"He's back in Antarctica, froze half of my face," Hiccup's voice was loud and laced with concern. I rolled my eyes and didn't look back at him. It was obvious who he was talking about–Jack Frost. Both him and Hiccup were immortals, but this particular one had a case of terrible heartbreak. And after I met the girl, I found a hole in my heart too....
"And you don't care, do you?" I cringed and finally glanced at Hiccup. He was dressed in black, like his pet dragon that was hanging from a low tree branch behind him like a bat. I ignored how fascinating his hair looked where parts of it were damp, showing the deep reds and browns. "I do, but it's bad enough we have to see each other suffer! I'll admit, what happened...I don't want to ever go through it again...but seeing affect all of us is agony." Hiccup bowed his head, and folded his arms. "I know..I just thought...maybe we could face it together?"
My shoulders stiffened. Hiccup had also mourned. He knew the pain better than anyone. But I also knew what he had planned. "I am not returning to the world. It a cruel, terrible place." I sniffed.
"Oh come on! You've been pouting here for one-hundred straight years!"
"My family is here!"
"And they're safe! You don't have to protect them," I fingered the arrowhead that was notched on the bowstring of my weapon. "I just don't want to lose anyone else–" My breath came out in short puffs as Hiccup laid a hand on my shoulder and peered down at me. His flickering green eyes looked into mine with hope, and something else I couldn't decipher. "And I don't want to lose you. Please, leave the past, and come with me to the present."

A/N: It feels like everyone hates my guts because of the cliffhanger >.> oh well. I added some merrhiccup (I know I spelled that so wrong) because they're gonna be seen more often in the future (And it's like Donna and Eric from That 70's Show. Speaking of the cliffhanger, you hooked yet? :3
In the extra scenes though, I plan on also doing tiny snippets of the sequel (Given how far I've gotten) to raise suspense. And a warning to you guys, MUCH less gory stuff. I promise you I won't be committing crimes like a James Patterson story. But hang in there, and be awesome :)
