~Elsa~
"Mavis?" My voice echoed on the high, rocky cliffs covered with snow. My nose crinkled at the extra frost lying around, looking for anything that had recently disturbed it. I jogged another few yards in a random direction, part of me paranoid on the time, and called out her name again.
Suddenly, snow flew in my face as something shot by from my left side and perched on my shoulder. "S-So cold," Her tiny body shook, with wide blue eyes frenzic. I took out a cobalt-colored cotton scarf and wrapped it around her as I summoned my wings again. "I'm sorry Mavis, it was just another immortal who set us off course. We'd better hurry, we're close to the time–"
"Or w-we could be fashionably l-late?" Her voice was choked with cold. I brushed off a spare snowflake on her ear and ascended back into the sky. "If all else fails, yes. But for now, let's try to be responsible, a-and cool, collected..." My voice trailed off, remembering what I had just done with Jack Frost. My cheeks heated up. Definitely not responsible.
"Immortals?" Mavis finished my sentence as my thoughts were cut of about the boy of frost, words, and wind. I nodded, and spotted our destination straight ahead: the workshop of Santa Claus.
He preferred North, or at least that's what he told me after all of the girly screaming on the old phone in the lobby of Hotel Transylvania, and even offered a permanent stay. I said no, obviously. I preferred Hotel Transylvania and my personal home, nicknamed the 'Palace of Ice Shards' by my council of vampires. Part of the council was Mavis' family, but Mavis took her mother's place as my advisor after the accident...
I landed on one of the timber balconies, the length of it even larger than my wingspan. I glanced back out at the gorgeous landscape of snowy mountains and turned to knock on the double oak doors.
It took a small, dreadful moment. I fidgeted in the closed doorway with my skin prickling. Then North opened the door, his gigantic grin and outstretched arms welcoming me. Behind him, I heard hushed whispers inside the workshop, and another Guardian appeared.
The Tooth Fairy, informally known as Tooth, fluttered towards me with fragile, hummingbird wings and feathers of exotic blues and greens. Her long eyelashes that ended in purple bulbs blinked away the sunlight from outside. I knew her from always running into her determined fairies that literally scoured the globe. They were like miniature versions of her, and just as cute. Since my rule, I had ordered that the vampires stop terrorizing their work, and Tooth became my biggest fan.
"Welcome home, Elsa!" Tooth embraced me, and North piled on as the breath that entered my lungs was cut short. They were so strong. I could hear Mavis still trapped in my arms, probably suffocating as I tried to pull away, my cheeks drizzled a light pink. "Thank you so much! We're so honored to be the new Guardians!" I showed them the hidden bundle that was Mavis, and Tooth squealed in joy. "Is that one of them? Oh, for a vampire she is adorable! How old is she? Around your age?"
I laughed and shook my head, "No, but closer than most. I'm one hundred and ninety-four, and she turned one hundred and eighteen a few months ago," Mavis stirred, and her beautiful blue eyes opened and fluttered at the Guardian's closeness. "Oh!" The two of them sighed dreamily at Mavis' eyes. "She is adorable," North gushed. "Look at her eyes! They're so cute!" Tooth cooed and crouched down to get a better look. Mavis looked up at me. "What'd I miss?" She yawned.
"Nothing much..but these are the Guardians, Mavis," I murmured the last part, barely audible by my unmoving lips. Knowing Mavis' hearing though, the message was sent. She instantly took flight and hovered in the shaded air beside me until a cloud of pink smoke appeared and Mavis claimed her human form. Striped pink leggings showed off her skinny figure, as did a dress about the length of my mini-skirt. The top of her raiment was a coal-black turtle neck with matching raven lips that wickedly smiled at her new comrades.
