Chapter 16
A few minutes before the clock hit 20:00 PM, the door to my apartment opened and I greeted my classmate, letting him come in as he carried his laptop bag with him. “Hey,” He said, a little out of breath, which made me assume that he made his way here as quick as possible.
“Welcome, take a seat,” I gestured him into the living area that was scanned by him with wide eyes. This was the first time he had ever come for a visit, and just like almost every other visitor, he was surprised at my apartment.
While he sat down on the couch, I put two glasses and a bottle of water, along with some snacks on the table, taking a few necessary papers for the essay out of my bedroom afterwards. Caleb turned his laptop on and as I sat down to him, his blue eyes locked onto my figure.
What was he looking at? I didn’t wear anything too special. In fact, I had changed into a pair of sweatpants and a black tank top. My hair was tied into a bun and I had to put my glasses on, which was probably the reason why he stared at me like that.
“Never knew that you had glasses,” I knew it.
“Oh, yeah, I only put them on when I read or get on the computer… at home,” I responded, pushing them up once before glancing at the screen of his laptop. He opened a new file and as we discussed the content of the topic we needed to write an essay about, he typed the most important facts down.
I didn’t know why Niall made such a big deal out of this. We were doing nothing but studying, hell I could even tell that Caleb did his best to avoid my gaze. His eyes were focused on the computer whilst I read the sentences upon my work sheets for him, so he could write his own interpretation down.
After a while of studying, Caleb leaned back on the couch and we began to take a small break. “So, how did you spend your day?” The brown-haired asked me, obviously trying to form a conversation, even though he hadn’t eyed me during our work process.
“Well, Niall and me went for a visit at my parents’ place,” Looking up at him, I saw a slightly pained expression lingering on his features, but he still managed to smile. I’m sorry, man, I thought, but didn’t say out loud, since he didn’t know that I knew about his emotions.
“Sounds cool,” He finally said, taking some of the salted cashews on the table and tucking them into his mouth. “What about you?” My question came off a little hesitant, but I wanted to keep the conversation going to avoid an awkward silence between us.
I have had enough of those today, I mentally rolled my eyes as I thought about the few hours before my boyfriend and I went to see my parents. Niall’s jealousy trip because of Caleb had really gotten into my skull, I mean; he even managed to call him my future husband in a way.
Sure, he didn’t mean it, but that blonde could be one hell of a sassy ass guy sometimes. Fuck, I snapped out of my thoughts again, staring at Caleb whom was still telling me about his day at the internship. I had only listened to half of it and nodded when he was finished, to show that I had been listening (which was actually a lie).
We ate a few more snacks before going back to the essay, continuing to study as the door bell suddenly rang. Standing up, I picked the door phone up, calling a small “hello?” out into it. “Miss Diam, we have a packet for you,” A male voice responded and I let them in, wondering which postman would deliver at this time of day.
Several minutes passed, and when a knock on the door became audible and I went to open it, everything seemed to happen in slow motion; before I could let a scream out at the gun that was pointed into my direction, my mouth was being covered and only a few muffled noises could be heard.
I was dragged into my own apartment, Caleb immediately shot up from his seat upon the couch, raising his arms at the sight of the caliber, his eyes widened in fear. There were three of those masked guys; one was holding me tight within his grasp with a gun pointing at my head.
The other two were trying to tame Caleb, but he seemed like a wild lion that was enraged and ready to fight the reckless huntsmen. A few hits were exchanged, until one of them ended up hitting the back of his head hard with the gun.
My legs and arms were trying to fight for dominance, but I was forcefully being dragged out of the apartment, the door was left open as we quickly made our way out of the building. No one ever came into my sight, not a single neighbor was out, which made me panic even more.
Not only did I want someone to call the police, they should also go and help Caleb, whom was unconsciously lying on the ground in my apartment with his head probably bleeding. “Shut the fuck up!” The one that held me hissed, proceeding to drag me into his car.
It was a black BMW.
Now it hit me. Those people had followed me back then when I walked to college. This was planned. But who the hell would want to kidnap me? I defended myself, until one of them pressed a tissue against my face, making me inhale the toxic scent on it.
My sight went blurry at first before I engulfed into complete darkness, my defense became weaker, then completely stopped as I fell unconscious, my head hit something but I was already feeling numb.

Dun dun dun duuuun! Drama time ladies (and gentlemen if there are any mysterious male readers out there)! Well, I was going to take this further into lenght, but I guess I was bored by it myself and seriously, this is chapter fucking 16 and you have yet to find out what this goddamn secret is. Good news for you, it'll be out soon. Bad news for the characters in the story, it'll change their lives. :D Anyways, hope I didn't leave you at a too bad time. (; Just so you know, one of the genres of this fanfiction is also Action, but I could only take two categories so I chose Romance over Action, since this is more of a love story, but none the less, you will be thrilled. Goodbye for now and stay tuned for the next update my babycakes. :) x
