Flashbacks on Fathers day and Doctor visits | Chapter Twelve

"You better find her." Stephanie said to Officer Linstead and she nodded. "We will do everything, to find that woman." Office Void said.

"Go home. It's Father's Day." She smiled and I nodded with Stephanie.

"Dad!" Bella said running towards me as we walked into the house. I hadn't been home since that night, about a week ago.

Matt had put three bullet holes in me before the police grabbed him. I had been in the hospital, and Stephanie had never left.

"You good?" Stephanie said grabbing my attention. I turned towards her and nodded.

"It's Father's Day." Bella smiled. Sean came in with a card and Stephanie came out as well.

I bent down and picked him in and read the card.

It was scribbles and lots of colors.

"Thanks little guy." I smiled at him and he smiled. "Daddy." He cuddled into me.

"You took her away from me!" The scene unfolded in my mind as I saw myself laying there helplessly . Stephanie nudged me.

"Come on I have a surprise for you." Bella said pulling my hand.

"Be careful." Stephanie warned as we walked into the living room.

"Here." She sad pulling out a box. I set Sean in the couch next to me. I opened the box and saw a painting.

"I made it in school." Bella chirped in. "Come here." I said. She came over and I wrapped my arms around her. "Thankyou,Bell." She smiled warmly to me. 

"It's not like it's the first time you've cheated on your wife" she grinned.

"Anyone hungry?" Stephanie asked. Stephanie eyed me. Bella said yes as well as I did. Bella went to go help her and I put Sean down to his toys.

"I'll be right back." I said and walked up the stairs to Stephanie and I's bedroom.

I walked in and starred at our bed, and went into the bathroom. I splashed water on my face.

"I want someone who is less goal orientated. Who lives in the moment" the scene replayed in my mind.

"You're using Stephanie for what? Children? Money?"

I sat down on the cold tile, against a wall.

"Using girls for things." My mind taunted me.
"Long and lasting customer of yours." It rung.

"Jon." I jumped and looked at Stephanie. "Sorry." She apologized.

"Everyone's downstairs." She added and I nodded. "I'm sorry. I just cant." I said getting up. I leaned on the wall, looking down and closing my eyes.

"What?" She asked. "My mind won't stop ringing!" I said before hitting the wall. "Jon, stop!" She said grabbing my arm. Tears came out as I yanked myself from her.

The kiss from last week replayed in my mind as I closed my eyes.

"No secrets jon." Steph said before walking up to me. I shook my head. "Somethings aren't meant to be said if there going to hurt the ones you love." I said before walking out of the bathroom. I walked down the stairs and saw Bella mixing the Mac and cheese.

"Mom said to bring the food into the other room." She said and I nodded grabbing the salad bowl.

I walked into the living room and set it down. I looked out the window.
