The rest of the week just went worse from there. Nat and I weren't talking. She knows how I feel about Sean. Sean doesn't know how I feel about Sean. Since the night he stayed over we have barely talked about it. And the dreams haven't stopped. The same dream since the night Sean slept over has woken me up every morning. I needed to do something I didn't want to do.
I sat down at the table across from Veronica. She was wearing all black. Black leggings with crazy tribal patterns on them, a black Beatles t-shirt with a leather jacket and dark sunglasses. She removed them flashing a perfect smile at me.
"I need to talk to you." I was intimidated by her obvious humor of the situation.
"I thought you might. You're in love with my brother, aren't you?"
"I thought you already knew that?" I managed a natural smile.
"Yeah. But now you are willing to accept it." Her voice was cool and crisp. She pulled a can of Pepsi out of her large studded purse and opened it with a pop, then took a long sip. "Ah."
Being...in love. I swallowed. It was scary think about. I've never felt this way about a guy before. "It's not why I'm here."
"I know you want answers."
"Well. I...um..you see-"
"Spill it!" She snapped getting annoyed at my hesitance.
"Why is always covered in cuts and bruises? Why is he so sneaky?" I stopped myself before I rambled on.
"Did you ask him?" She took another long swig of her drink.
"Yes. And now I'm asking you."
"His past isn't pretty. We all have skeletons in our closet. Maybe he cares enough about you to keep the closet closed. Make you think he's everything he seems to be."
"So what are you saying?" I was confused. Everything he seems to be...
"He's completely alone, Michelle."
My eyes widened at her saying my name.
"You're everything he wants and he doesn't want to ruin that with you." She looked so vulnerable at that moment, I felt bad.
I nodded at her. I understood. But it wasn't going to stop me from finding out what was up with him. If I loved him now I would love him him knowing the truth....right?

As I walked home after meeting with Veronica I saw Sean walking down the side walk.
"Sean!" I yelped and ran after him.
"Hey sweetheart." He looked...unpleasantly surprised to see me, making me suspicious.
"Where're you going?" I asked walking along side him.
"Uh, home."
In that moment. I don't know why. I felt like I was going to cry. Normally he would tease me and I would complain and we would both end up laughing at how stupid we were being. But it was so different. Actually it has been since he slept over a few days ago. "Bad day?" My voice was uneven. It's only been like this for a few days and I missed the old us already.
"Kinda." He sighed.
"Yeah I've been having a bad day too." I matched his tone.
"Yeah." He barked a laugh. "I'm sure."
I scowled at him. "What's that suppose to mean?"
He shook his head smiling like this was somehow funny. "Nothing."
