When it was three o'clock and time to go home I pretty much sprinted out to my car to avoid more of Natalie's drama or Jess's know it all attitude. Or even worse. Sean.

I passed Dallas's locker on my way out to the parking lot. "Hey! Michelle!" Dallas yelled after me. I turned around not believing my ears. Dallas Richards just said hey to me!

Calm down Michelle it's just a boy. Yeah a really cute boy I happen to like a lot.

I turned around slowly and put on my best smile. "Hey." I flipped my long blonde hair over my shoulder.

He was standing by his locker surrounded by his friends. He flashed a smile at me and waved.

I felt like I might faint. Damn it Michelle keep it together! I waved back then walked out to my car trying to hold in my excitment.

I threw my backpack in the backseat of my black Ford Explorer, jumped into the drivers seat and sped out of the school's parking lot.

I turned out onto Briarwood Rd. and drove down the street so happy that today had an amazing ending and I can go home and relax. More importantly be away from people.

I saw Sean walking on the sidewalk with his backpack slung over his shoulder. Yeah that didn't last long.

I sighed then slowed down and pulled over next to him. What are you doing Michelle? I mentally slapped myself.

He stopped and turned toward me. His hair hung just above his eyes that looked dull and sad, not anything like this morning.

I rolled down the window. "Get in."

He picked his head up looking confused but not saying a word.

I heard the boom of thunder overhead making me jump.

"Hurry up idiot!" I laughed.

He opened the door and slid in the passenger seat just before the sky started to pour down rain.

I started driving down the road again. "You just missed the rain."' I laughed at his luck.

"I like the rain." He spoke with no emotion, no humor which was so unlike him.

I didn't know what to say. I just kept my eyes on the road hoping I wouldn't have to say anything.

"You know you don't have to do this." He said staring at his hands.

No, I don't have to do this. Actually I shouldn't be doing this. But I couldn't just let him walk home in the pouring rain. Why was he walking home anyway he's seventeen can't he drive?

"I owe you. For saving my life earlier." I blushed at my awkwardness.

He laughed. "Anytime." His laugh made me relax a little, I guess I was getting used to it.

I wanted to ask him all the questions lingering in my mind since I met him but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

"Where do you live I will drop you off." His face changed and now he looked worried. "You alright?"

"Just drop me off here." He sounded hysterical.

"You sure?" I asked a little scared myself at his sudden change in behavior. What is wrong with him? He was anything but okay.

"Yes just stop! Please!" He raised his voice and I pulled over right away. He was lucky he said please.

He got out and started running up the sidewalk as the rain soaked his clothes and hair. Then he turned the corner behind the Deli and was out of sight.

What the hell? What's his problem? I was trying to be a nice person for once and-

My phone buzzed and I looked away from the sidewalk where Sean ran away from me. It's a text from Dallas? "Wanna come over tonight babe?"

My heart fluttered in excitement and before I could even contemplate whether this was a good idea or even before I asked my parents I answered "Sure." and grinned to myself I can't believe he just asked me to come over! I squealed not caring if people walking by heard me.

Then I drove home as fast as I could to get ready for a date with the guy of my dreams.
