The doorbell rang and I wasn't even ready yet. I just wore a black skirt a grey shirt and black flats. I didn't do anything to my hair I left it hang in loose waves and I didn't even have time to put on makeup before-

"Hello Sean." My Mom's cheerful voice echoed through the house.

Oh great.

"You like nice. Why don't you come in." She said.

I raced down the stairs to the foyer to try to stop her but it was too late, Sean was looking at one of the giant paintings on the wall.

"Like what you see?" I surprised him and he quickly turned to me.

He smiled. "You look....stunning." His eyes brightened.

He was dark wearing jeans and a black t-shirt. I suddenly felt overdressed.

He smirked. "I see you like my sweatshirt."

I looked down noticing I was still wearing his black sweatshirt from earlier.

"Oh." I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. "I forgot I had it on." Lies.

He turned back to the painting. "Who painted this? It's beautiful." He changed the subject.

I walked over to him and looked up at the painting. "It's Van Gogh's Starry Night. But, uh, I painted it." I shifted my weight onto my right leg and looked at the ground.

He lifted my chin up with his index finger. "Well that explains it."

Another perfect moment where our eyes met. I could never get tired of looking in his eyes. The green wasn't dark it was more pastel, like nothing I've ever seen. My mind ran wild, I couldn't control my thoughts with him so close.

I looked away, breaking the bitter sweet gaze. "We better get going."

He didn't say anything but I could feel him studying my face.

I walked away from him. "Mom we are going now!" I yelled.

"Okay you two have fun! Be safe!"

I rolled my eyes. Safe was an understatement around him. He was practically my full time body guard.

We walked to the door and he opened it for me. "Ladies first."

"Then why aren't you walking?" I teased.

"Very funny." He smirked.

"I'm waiting." I laughed at him.

"Fine." He walked through the door. "Are you saying you're not a lady?"

Even my jokes backfired around him.

"I think you know very well I'm a lady."

"How would you know I know?"'

"Because you seem to know everything. And it's obvious." I spoke the truth. "Now are we taking my car or are we walking? Did you walk all the way here?" I asked.

"Everything is so close in this town why do you even drive?" He asked as we walked past my car and down the sidewalk into Briarwood County. That meant a yes.

"It's hard to walk two miles to school in Prada heels." My answer sounded completely logical to me but he chuckled.

"Good thing you're wearing flats then." He smiled looking at my shoes.

"Yeah. Good thing." We continued walking past the various diners and small shops in town.

All I could think about was him and how I thought of him as kind of a friend but he was practically a stranger to me.
