I stared at her in disbelief.
Her hand hung between us. "Come on. I won't bite." She flashed her perfect white teeth. They stood out so much lined by her red lips.
I tentatively shook her hand. I swallowed. "Michelle Sinclair."
"Oh, I know who you are." She snarled but kept her perfect smile on. "Can I come in?"
"Um." She raised an eyebrow at me. It didn't look like I had a choice. "I-I guess."
I stood aside as she strolled in. "Nice house." She observed everything in the foyer.
"I didn't know Sean had a sister?" I shut the door keeping my eye on her at all times.
"I'm not surprised. You two are practically strangers. All you do is bicker." She snickered examining her long black fingernails.
"Does he know you are here?" I asked.
"Nope." She popped the "p".
"Then why are you?" I snapped placing my hands on my hips.
"Watch you're little tone with me, missy. Sean might be able to deal with it, but I won't."
I gaped at her. Was that a threat?
"I'm here because my baby brother finally has a girlfriend!" She squealed all the sudden acting like a teenage girl.
"Sh! My parents are asleep!" I whispered.
"I'm visiting from college and he's told me so much about you that I thought I would introduce myself." She smiled.
"He talks about me?" I felt my cheeks heating up.
"You're all he talks about." She replied.
I was blushing so badly I couldn't look at her. I'm all he talks about.
"It's so cute how you think he's such a good guy." She took a piece of gum out of her pocket, unwrapped it and chewed it.
"What do you mean?"
"He was right. You do ask a lot of questions." She sneered at me popping her bubble gum.
She is unbelievable. "When you say something like that I just expect me to ignore it!"
"You can. And you will." Her eyes glowed just like Sean's. I saw the resemblance between them. "Besides I think you will find out soon enough on your own." She looked at the grand clock on the wall right as it stuck midnight. "I better be going. Nice meeting you, Michelle. I think we will make great friends." She spoke clearly over the 12 chimes of the clock.
Before I could even argue she walked out the door, got into her black sports car and sped down the street.
I shut the door. I couldn't believe she just showed up like that, told me some useless information, then left. Sean couldn't be related to her. But the eyes. Hers were a slightly different color but they both glowed exactly the same.
I yawned. I needed sleep. Tonight was a mixture of all different emotions and I couldn't handle another minute of it.
I trudged up to my room exhausted. I brushed my teeth and washed my face and slid into my warm, soft bed.
Being as I tired as I was I thought I would fall asleep easier but I couldn't.
I laid in bed for hours tossing and turning "You will find that out soon enough." Veronica's voice echoed through my mind like she was standing in the room.
I tossed one more time and laid flat on my stomach and before I knew it I was asleep.
