I walked into the foyer of the house my black flats made noise as I stomped across the freshly polished marble floor.

"So how was school?" My mom asked right as I entered the kitchen. I was annoyed and the last thing I needed were my parents asking me all kinds of school related questions like the do everyday. My Dad is the worst offender of this but he was away on another business trip.

"Good." I lied and tossed my backpack on the floor.

"What happened?" She was relentless.

I huffed. Here we go. "There's a new kid at Briarwood."

"Ohhh." She stopped her OCD dish washing for a second. "Boy or girl?"

"Boy."

"Oh." She grinned to herself

"You know I saw that." I snapped.

"What's his name?" She went back to washing dishes.

"Sean Dawson." I groaned.

"You don't seem very happy about this Sean Dawson. So you must have

spoken to him."

I really didn't want to talk anymore about Sean but I had to. She was interested now. "He's just annoying."

"Is he cute?"

"MOM!!!" I screamed. She sounded like Natalie.

"Oh calm down Michelle!" My mom howled in laugher.

"Fine, want to know all about Sean? He doesn't fit in at Briarwood in the least. He barely passes the dress code

requirements. He's better looking than all the guys. He's not a genius, know-it-all like the rest of the school. And, for some strange reason, he likes to hang around me!" I found myself venting all my pent up feelings about Sean Dawson.

"Seems like you pay attention a lot to this guy." My mom snickered.

"It's hard not to! He's always showing up and not to mention I have to give him a ride home because he doesn't have a car." I didn't mention the fact that I never actually took him home

"Honey you don't have to do anything for this boy." I knew what she was getting out and I didn't like it.

"Ugh!" I screeched and stomped up the marble stairs to my room.

"Honey don't be so dramatic!" My mom said in a calm tone.

Flopped on my bed wanting to just sleep for the rest of my life. The soft, warm comforter felt so good and my pillow practically begged me to fall asleep but I had to get ready for the party tonight.

I forced myself to get up run the shower and started trying to decide what to wear because I know that will take me the longest.

As I rummaged through my closet, I tried my absolute hardest to forget about what happened with Sean. Ugh! Why did he have to push my buttons like that!

I got into the shower and let the hot water wash over my body clearing away my thoughts about this afternoon.

When I'm all dressed and ready I skip downstairs to the kitchen where my mom was reading a magazine and doing her nails.

"You look cute." She smiled.

"I'm going to a party." I said afraid of her reaction.

"Okay have fun." She continued doing her nails and flipping through the pages of the magazine.

"Um. Okay." I was she joking? If normally takes begging for her to let me go to the library.

I put my black leather jacket over my tight red shirt, black jeans and heels. My blonde hair was curled and I did a smokey eye for my eye makeup.
