18. Old Flames

Three days later I finally had the courage to call her for lunch. I would be lying if I said that my heart wasn't beating out of my chest.

The phone rang a couple of times before someone picked up. "Hello?" It was her voice.

"Hello?" she repeated.

"H-Hi. It's David"

"Oh, Hi David. How's everything?"

"Good good. I was calling because I thought I'd take you up on your offer to go to lunch"

"Okay. Is 2pm ok?"

"Yes, that's fine"

"I'll text you the address to the restaurant"

I got ready, and left my condo, heading to the restaurant. She texted me the address and it wasn't that far from my place.

When I arrived there I got a booth for two, and the waiter seated me. Ten minutes later she walked in. It felt like DejaVu. She walked in, wearing a white fitted dress, and nude heels. Damn. I felt myself pressing through my jeans already.

I got up, greeting her. Surprisingly, she leaned in, giving me a hug. She smelled so good, and I hoped I could control myself throughout lunch.

We both sat down, and the waiter came over to take our orders. When he left, I decided to start up the conversation.

"So how have you been?"

"I've been good. Really good. I got a promotion, and it moved me to Miami. Ant decided to come along. What about you? How's everything been?"

"Well I moved my business out here after I found out Ashlyn had an affair and the baby wasn't mines"

Emerald was shocked. She couldn't believe Ashlyn.

"Wow that's crazy" I replied.

"Yea, so when did you and Antonio become a thing again?"

"About two years ago. I didn't think he would propose, let alone me saying yes, but he did, and I said yes" I could see a look of disapproval pass through his eyes.

"So when's the wedding?"

"Next year. We've been planning for a minute. I want everything to be perfect" I smiled thinking about my man.

The waiter came back with our drinks. I suddenly felt tension, so I decided to give David a little time.

"One second, I have to use the restroom" I said, getting up, and walking to the bathroom. I looked in the mirror. What was up with him? Maybe coming to meet with him was a mistake.

I hear the door open, and saw David walk in. "David" I said, already knowing what he wanted to happen. He locked the door, walking over to me. "I still love you" he said, picking up me up and putting me on the counter.

He leaned in, kissing me. I tried pushing him away, he just moved to my neck. "David, we can't" I pleaded. This was wrong, so wrong. But I'm not going to lie and say a small part of me didn't want him to stop.

"Just give in baby. I know you missed me" he whispered, lifting up my dress. "David" I pleaded. I was so close to giving in. I tried pulling my dress back down, considering I couldn't wear panties with this dress.

Mistake
