14. Surprise Surprise

The next morning, I woke David up, telling him he had to go to work. "Baby why don't we just take the day off? Spend some time together" After careful consideration, I agreed.

We laid in bed, naked, watching tv together. "Babe I was thinking..." David said. "What?" I asked, looking at him. "No more sex for a while. We never got the chance to properly get to know each other" I laughed. "Baby I'm serious" I nodded my head. "Ok"

He pulled me onto his lap. "David I thought you just said no sex" He laughed. "I know. I just want to look at you, admire you. You're just so beautiful" I blushed. "David am I the first black girl you've ever been with?" He nodded his head. "Why have I been sleep on y'all?" I burst out laughing. "You're too old to be using our lingo" He smacked my butt. "Be quiet. I'm the sexiest thirty year old you've ever seen"

I acted like I was in thought. "I don't know...There's a couple" He played as if he was hurt. "I'm kidding baby. I'm lucky to have such a gorgeous specimen of a man" he laughed. "Now you're going too far"

"But anyways, tell me about yourself" I said. "Well I was adopted, for starters. I never got a chance to meet my real parents but I was just fine with my adoptive ones"

"Did you always want to become a pastor?"

"Somewhat. My dad was a pastor. He always wanted me to follow in his footsteps. But I've always loved building things. One day, I'm gonna build us a house" I smiled. "I wasn't raised here though. I moved here from Kentucky after graduating college. That's when I met Ashlyn. She at the time was working as a waitress at a diner down the street from the church"

I smiled. David had a good child-hood. "So tell me more about you. About your mother" I sighed. "She wasn't always like that. She was my best-friend. We would do everything together. All we had was one another" David wiped the tear that fell. I missed my mother, before the drugs. "You should see her, and talk to her"

"No David. She hates me" David shook his head. "No she doesn't. She loves you. She's battling something within herself. Everyone has their own personal struggles baby" I never thought of it in that perspective. "Okay, I'll make time to go see her" He smiled and leaned up, kissing me.

We must have been kissing pretty heavily because soon after, I felt David harden under me. I pulled away. "Remember what you said" He ran his hands over his face in frustration. "I know" he said laughing.

I got off the bed, throwing on his t-shirt. "So are you going home to change, or what?" I asked. "No, I put some of my clothes in your closet"

"When? You stalker" I said laughing. "I'm not a stalker, just madly in love" he said getting off the bed. He gave me a kiss. "I'm going to cook breakfast" I noticed he didn't stop to put on any clothes. "Naked?" I asked. He smiled that gorgeous smile, and winked. "Yea"

After doing my hygiene routine, I sat on the bed, creaming my skin. "Damn girl, you making this hard for me" I looked up to see David in his pajama pants. I laughed. "David you're the one that came up with that stupid rule" I said. "I know, and I'm gonna stick to it. Just try not to tempt me" I giggled. "I won't"

"Breakfast is downstairs" he said and went into bathroom. I got dressed in a simple white tube dress, and gold heels, and put my hair into a bun. I decided to go all natural today. After spraying on perfume, I went downstairs.

David had made chocolate chip pancakes, my favorite. I started eating, checking emails. I called the office, to let them know I wasn't coming in today. "Hello?" Marissa from the front desk answered. "Hey Marrissa, can you forward me to Zach please?"

"Hi Ms.Johnson, and yes. One second please"

David came walking downstairs in a white v-neck, khaki shorts, and a pair of white Huaraches. I smiled at him. "Hey baby" Zach spoke.

"Goodmorning Zach. I just wanted to call you and let you know I wasn't coming in today. I already rescheduled all of my meetings"

"Is everything ok?"

"Yes Zach, everything is fine. I just need a day off"

"Ok, well see you tomorrow. Have you thought about what I said?"

"Yes Zach, I'll talk to you tomorrow"

"Ok, see you later. Bye baby"

"Bye Zach" I hung up the phone. David just stared at me. "Thanks for breakfast. You look nice baby" I said getting up, and walking over to him. I wrapped my arms around his neck but he pulled away. "What was that about?"

"Zach told me he was in love with me the other day" David looked shocked, but upset. "And what did you say?"

"He tried to give me an ultimatum. Sleep with him to keep my job, and I told him no, and he just blurted out that he was in love with me. I don't understand. When Zach and I first started what we had, we agreed to no strings attached"

"Well, that's what you get when you sleep with your boss" I cut my eyes at him. "Fuck you David! At least Zach loves me and me only. I don't have to worry about his wife!" He tried to grab me, "I'm sorry baby. I didn't mean that"

I sighed. "David stop acting like you didn't know about Zach when we first met. I didn't know he felt this way until now, and that right after you dumped me"

"I know. I'm sorry. I just get so jealous when it comes to you" I rolled my eyes. "Yea whatever" I said. He grabbed my waist, pulling me closer. "Forgive me baby. I'll make it up to you" he said kissing my neck. "Stop David, before we start something we can't finish" he smacked my ass.

"I know. Come on, we're going out"

David and I ended up at the movies. I got a couple looks from people, maybe members of the church, but I didn't really care.

After seeing the movie, and grabbing lunch, we decided to visit my granny. We pulled up at her house, seeing a car that looked unfamiliar. We knocked on the door, and Gran opened it.

"Hey baby" she said pulling me into an embrace. I hugged her back. "Hi Pastor" she said hugging him but I could tell she wondered what we were doing here together. "Hi Ms.Ruby" he said hugging her back. She let us both in.

We walked in the living room to see a pretty light-skinned girl, with hazel eyes. I felt like I know her. "So what brings you two by?" Gran asked. "We have something to tell you Gran" I said. Gran raised her eyebrow. "I have news for you too sweetheart"

This time I raised my eyebrow. "What's the news Granny?" I asked. "Emerald, this is Kortni, your sister" she said. I felt the room spinning. I ran to the trashcan, throwing up. All of a sudden everything turned black.

I ran after her, catching Emerald as she fell out. "Oh my God! Is she ok?" Gran asked. "I don't know Ms.Ruby but I think she's pregnant, with my baby"
