10. Fix It

These past few weeks, David had been feeling miserable. Ashlyn noticed a change in his attitude but she thought it was because his work was making him stressed.

Emerald no longer came to church with Gran. She picked up more hours at work to keep her busy.

Today she had a meeting with some new clients. A lawyer and his wife. They wanted to make a commercial, and set up a website for their law firm.

As I walked in the meeting room, I noticed there was a guest. "Hello Mr. & Mrs.Tegrossi"

"Hello Ms.Johnson" they both greeted me. "I hope you don't mind, we brought our son along. He claims he has these brilliant ideas"

"No it's no problem. Hello, I'm Emerald Johnson" I said shaking his hand. He smiled widely. "I'm Antonio Tegrossi" Antonio was very nice looking. He had tan skin, and these beautiful grey eyes.

Throughout the whole meeting, Antonio stared at me. Afterwards he stayed with me to help me clean up the meeting room. "Thank you. You didn't have to help me"

"Now what kind of man would I be, if I didn't help out a beautiful lady like you?" His accent was such a turn on.

I just smiled. "I know how you can thank me Ms.Johnson"

I looked at him suspiciously. "How?"

"Go out on a date with me" I laughed, "Okay" he smiled. When we were finally done, he gave me a hug, and got my number. "See you tonight at 7" I smiled and nodded.

After the meeting, work went by pretty fast. I clocked out at 5:30pm, and headed home. Antonio texted me, asking for my address. After giving it to him, I got dressed.

I did my hygiene routine, but I couldn't figure out what to wear. I called him, "Hello Beautiful" he answered. "What should I wear? Something casual or dressy?"

He laughed. "Wear something casual love" I smiled. "Okay" I said. "See you in a minute" he said. "Alright" I said and hung up. I was really excited for our date.

I chose simple white ripped jeans, a white v-neck, nude heels, and a light blue jean jacket. After straightening my hair and applying light make up, I was ready to go.

The doorbell rung, and I checked the time, seeing I had 30 minutes to spare. He was early. I opened the door, to find David standing there, holding edible arrangements.

"What do you want David?"

"I came to apologize" I shook my head. "Keep it, I don't want any apologies"

He tried to step in but I blocked the way. "You can't be here"

He looked confused. "Why not?"

"Because I'm expecting somebody" he looked at me, taking in my appearance. "So you're dating someone?" I nodded my head.

"Oh" I stood there awkwardly. "Why?"

I smacked my teeth. "What do you mean why? David you broke up with me" He sighed. "I know. I made a mistake. I'm trying to fix it"

"No David. You can't just fix it. And you have to go, he should be here any minute" David looked around. "Where is he?"

"It doesn't matter. You need to go" He sighed. "At least take these" I snatched them. "Thank you" I said. "I'm sorry again" he said walking off.

I closed the door and went to go sit the fruit down in the kitchen. Twenty minutes later, Antonio showed up exactly on time. When I opened the door he stood there holding a beautiful bouquet of white roses. "Hello gorgeous" he said. I blushed. "Hi"

He hugged me, and I invited him in taking the roses. "Thank you they're beautiful" I said as I hugged him. His cologne complimented his white v-neck, tan shorts, and loafers.

"You look stunning" he said as I came back from putting them in a vase in the kitchen. "Thank you. You don't look so bad yourself"

"Thank you. Ready?" I nodded my head. After grabbing my purse, and locking up, we left. He drove a nice Maserati. It was stunning.

"So where are we going?" I asked as we got on the freeway. "It's a surprise"

As he drove, he placed his hand on my thigh. "Is this ok?" he asked. I smiled and nodded. In the midst of it, he grabbed my hand and kissed it. It was comforting and sweet.

We showed up to a Fun Park. It had an arcade, bowling alley, mini golf, and go karts. I smiled widely. I loved this type of stuff. I never got the chance to do it because I am always so busy with work.

He went and paid for a wrist band for everything. We first got on the go karts, and then played arcade games. Antonio won a lot of tickets so he got me a big stuffed animal.

He ordered wings and drinks. "So what do you do for a living Mr.Tegrossi?" He laughed. "Unlike my parents, I chose not to be a lawyer. Instead I went to school to study medicine, got my Doctorate Degree, and now I work as a doctor at the Children's Hospital"

"That seems like a wonderful job"

"It is. I love kids"

"Why are you single? You seem like the perfect guy. You're sweet, a gentleman, have a nice job with no ex-wife or children" He laughed. "Thank you for the compliment. But I'm not going to lie, work keeps me busy, and that sometimes can take a toll on my relationships"

"I understand completely. But you made time for me tonight?" I said smirking and raising an eyebrow. "Because no matter what, I can always make time for someone like you. Now tell me about the famous Emerald Johnson" I laughed. "I don't know about the famous part but I was raised by my grandmother, and I started working at my job at 18, as an intern. I learned the ways of the company and did a damn good job coming up with ideas, and that's how I got my job"

"Hard work pays off" he said. I nodded while laughing. "Why are you single?" I shrugged. Because the man I want broke up with me for his wife, I started to say. "I don't know, honestly" he nodded and we continued to eat and talk.

After we ate we went to the bowling alley, and then mini golf which I whooped his ass in.

On the way back to my house, I couldn't stop smiling. He held my hand the whole time he drove, it was nice. When we finally pulled up, he turned off the car. He walked around to my side opening up the door for me, helping me get out. "Thank you"

I grabbed the stuffed animal and my purse. He walked me to my door. "I had an amazing time tonight. Thank you for taking me out"

"No problem beautiful. Thank you for agreeing to go out with me. I'd like to see you again" I smiled. "I'd like that" he grinned. "Well, goodnight love"

"Goodnight Antonio" I said. He leaned down and kissed me. He pulled away after a minute. "See you later" he said walking back to his car.

He waited until I got in safely to pull off. I smiled as I closed the door. My smile immediately faded.

"David how the hell did you get in my house?!"
