After leaving Zach's office, I retreated back to my own. Zach and I just hooked up from time to time. Nothing serious, no strings attached, one would say.

After the long meeting, I got together a couple of brochures, and power points. At 5:00pm, I was officially off work. Don't get me wrong, I love my job, but on Friday's I can't help but to watch the clock.

After clocking out, I headed over to my grandma's house. New York was beautiful, but the traffic was a bitch. After staying in traffic for an hour and a half, I finally got to my destination.

My grandma, Ruby Sanders, lived on the nice side of New York. She worked as a seamstress for a huge wedding dress company for 17 years. Retiring only two years ago, she lived well-off.

My grandpa died in the War years ago, so she lived alone. I knocked at her door, but found her outside in her garden instead. I took off my shoes, walking over to her.

She saw me and got up, giving me a hug. "Hey baby"

"Hi Grandma. How are you?" I replied as I followed her into the house. "I'm good sweetie. How was work?"

"It was good, just happy it's Friday. So what did you do today?"

"I went over to Daisy's today, and I had my book club"

"That's nice granny"

"You talked to your mother child?" I shook my head. "And why not?"

"Because Gran, I don't have time for her negativity. All she does is curse me out, and blames me for all her mistakes"

My mother was a drug addict. I hated to admit it but she was, every since I was thirteen. I hated her for the longest. I was forced to grow up faster than usual, and she never believed me. Especially when her "boyfriends" abused me.

Sexually, physically, and verbally. That's why I've worked as hard to get where I am. I wanted to get out of there. By there I meant her house. If you're wondering, I never met my Dad.

After graduating early and getting a scholarship to NYU, I left as soon as I could, not even looking back.

My mother was now bitter and lonely. I speak to her from time to time, but only because of my granny. We tried to get her help, plenty of times, but she would go right back to the drugs.

"I know honey but you got to forgive. Not for her but for you. I know she hurt you, but that's still your mother"

I wiped a tear that I didn't even know fell. She embraced me, and we talked for a minute, just catching up. I look at the time and saw that it was now 8pm.

"Alright Grandma, I'll guess I'll get going now" she nodded and I hugged her and left.

When I finally got home, I quickly took a shower, and slipped on some gym clothes.

I arrived at the gym around 8:45. It wasn't as crowded, since everyone was out clubbing and what not.

Walking to the yoga mats, I began stretching. After stretching, I walked over to the treadmill. I looked up and did a double take.

In front of me, on the other side of the gym, lifting weights, stood the most attractive man I've ever seen.

His blonde hair, wet from obvious sweat. His green eyes, and pink kissable lips. His muscles showing through his cut-out shirt. His obvious print showing through his shorts.

I was such a perv.

His eyes caught my stare and he returned the gaze. We stood there staring at each other for what seemed like the longest. His eyes scanned up and down my body. I stood there, in a sports bra, and running shorts.

My phone dinging caught me by surprise. It was Zach texting me, asking me out to dinner.

I looked back up and he was gone. Just like that. I snapped out of it, starting up the treadmill, finishing my workout.
