Lauren stood at the airport, smiling and taking pictures at the gaping fans. She loved them, she wished she didn't have to lie to them. About Luke, or maybe more about how management controlled so many things that they didn't know about. But, the fans smiled at her, told her thanks, and they loved her just as much as she did with them. She didn't want to break that relationship.
So many things were breaking as of right now, her self esteem, her trust, her band's publicity, her relationship with Justin. Her heart. Lauren just smiled through it, the pain. For the fans, is what she thinks it's for. It's not for them. You know that, the voices remind her.
She just continued to walk through the crowd, stopping occasionally to take pictures or just talk with a fan. She smiled when a girl told her; "I-I can't believe I finally met you guys! T-Thank you so much, I love you."
Lauren replied, "I love you too. And thank you, for being a part of everything."
That's when the paps started to fill the area. Lauren looked back at the flashing cameras, her smile smaller. It just reminded her of -- you know. Him?
She didn't want to think about it. All she had to do was tweet things out, meet up with them on occasion, that's all. No feelings, Lauren gulped, that's the goal here. To digest those butterflies. To get rid of those heart eyes. To stay clear of heartbreak.
She went into the plane. She didn't want to be with the haunting lights, sickening cameras. All they wanted was money. All she wanted was to be happy. She sat next to Camila, Dinah in front of her, Ally on my other side, Normani next to Dinah.
Camila looked out the window, she thought about the project too. Not as much as Lauren did, but a lot. She had grown to like the tan, tattooed bassist that always texted her, checking on her, calling her nonstop.
He was clingy, most would say.
Camila was used to clingy people, her family, friends. He didn't bother her at all. His chocolate brown eyes enjoyed staring into hers, they enjoyed each other's company. They weren't awkward around each other, anymore at least.
The other girls? They didn't care. They had their own boyfriends, their own business, their own heart to take care of.
The boys were off somewhere else, being as goofy as clowns. Wherever they were, the girls were far from. Looking out the window, tears brimmed by the fan's beautiful eyes.
Lauren was too heartsick to look at them. If she did, she would run out of the plane doors. Going to them, then to him. She'd been avoiding to admit everything. Why can't I stop feeling this way? She groans to herself. Do I like putting myself through so much pain?
Camila noticed quickly, her same emotions vivid on Lauren's pale face. She knew Lauren didn't want pity. "You knew the two of you had to say goodbye." She started, trying to sound bitter. "Stop thinking about them -- him, I mean."
"He's already in a relationship." Lauren states quietly. "And I am too. It will never be me. You can say we'll be together, someday, but that's not true. We're not together. We never were."
Camila stayed silent, looking at Ally for a second, then leaning against the window. The last thing she said before they flew into the air, away from land. It meant more than it should've. "Goodbye."

Publicity // Luke Hemmings & Lauren Jauregui
Fanfiction"We'll do it." Those three words triggered the start of this entire adventure. It's amazing how those three words meant so much to this. Why Luke agreed? Beats me. Did I take anyone's advice? No one gave me any.
