Night Of The VMA's
The crowd was jumping, hearts racing, sweat prickling down their beautiful faces. There was a different atmosphere tonight, I wasn't sure what it was, but it was positive. Something was up. I'm not sure. I just kept playing, and singing. The crowd was anticipating for something, I'm not sure what it was. The boys seemed to notice, the crowd checking their phones every few minutes. People began to only be on their phones about now, even in the front row.
Even when we pointed out the mic to them, fewer people would respond the more we did it. Calum spoke up, using the song Amnesia for an excuse for a moment without your phone. "Who has a phone in their hand right now?" He asked, smiling when the crowd cheered louder, louder than they had all night.
"Okay, okay." He chuckled a bit, "I want you all, to put your phones back into your pockets right now."
Some of the people in the crowd groaned, it wasn't like the fans to do that. They knew how much we didn't like it. I looked back at the boys, confused. They were too, Ashton's eyebrows furrowed. Michael trying to hype the crowd, looking back at us every few minutes. Calum trying to get them to put their phones away.
Once the last chords were played, last notes sung, we decided to ask. Michael was straight forward, "Why are you guys on your phones so fucking much? What's up, everyone!"
Their laughs echoed through the arena, responses flooding through the room, yells that sounded like whispers from up on the stage. That was the reaction we needed. Not just one laugh, one response, one whisper. We needed all of them, we needed to be able to get to know them from up here. We're breathing the same air, the same sound waves were heard, that wasn't enough. We needed to know that they were having fun. This wasn't a one show hype, this might be someone's only chance to see us.
"Is it because it's the VMA's tonight and you guys are upset you have to be stuck here with us instead of at home in your pajamas and Nutella?" Ashton's voice rang out of the speakers, creating more laughs and smiles to be spread throughout the building.
The VMA's? That's tonight?
I chuckled lightly, a confused tint heard in it. I just walked away, going toward the fans, the ones who were off there phones. One smiled brightly, another started yelling about something, then a few more, then it was everyone.
I stepped back, a little frightened by the sudden yelling. Calum leant down, trying to listen to they were saying. I decided to do the same, or at least try to. They were all saying different things.
"Luke! Oh my God!" Was all one fan said.
"You guys won something it was --"
"You'll never guess what just happened!"
"VMA!"
"Award!"
Wait, those two words go along pretty well if you ask me --
"You guys won the Song Of The Summer! You guys won!"
The smile on my face enlarged, I thanked the fans for the information. Then, four other people came on the stage to tell us the same news.
"You guys won Song of the Summer!" The members of Hey Violet screeched in unison. I raised an eyebrow, skeptical. They only come on stage for pranks, this could've waited until the end of the show -- that's when something hit me.
Well, it hit my face.
I opened my eyes, finding the teens holding loaded nerf guns, ready to attack. Rena continuously hitting me. I yelped, running from them all. The boys took the memo, a running Luke isn't witnessed very often. (a/n: wtf did i just write)
Calum took his water bottle as defense, careful not to trip over his own two feet. He splashed it on them every few times they got close.
Michael continuously pointed to the crowd, jokingly shouting, "Shoot them! Shoot them!"
At least I hope that was a joke.
Ashton threw his drumsticks, then his shirt. He ran from his drum kit, grabbing his mic as he giggled, running. "Slight delay due to these losers, all their fault not our-"
"Hiya!" Casey says into another mic. "How's it going?"The crowd cheered, laughing evident.
This is what we live for.
Good times.
With good friends.
And a girlfriend, who's as close as a sister.
Nothing could be better.
Everything was alright now.
Nothing could make me happier.

Ouch that stung.
Basically, Luke is content with everything. He doesn't want anything to change. He loves Rena right now, she loves him. Everything is great on his side of life.
But what about Lauren?

Fanfiction"We'll do it." Those three words triggered the start of this entire adventure. It's amazing how those three words meant so much to this. Why Luke agreed? Beats me. Did I take anyone's advice? No one gave me any.
