chapter fifteen

Kai has been slowly nibbling on the last piece of stake for thirty minuets. "Kai." I said annoyed. "Lilly." he said back amused. "Stop stalling." I said firmly. He sighed and nodded. "I'm just trying to make our last meal together last." He said smiling goofily.

I glared slightly not giving in to his adorableness. "Fine. Can we walk for a while before we leave?" he asked smiling. I nodded not wanting to go so quick either.

I stood up and we walked outside together. He stopped at a tree trunk and smirked. "Where will you go when we spilt up?" he asked. I shrugged. I actually haven't thought of it. As long as I'm not with him my friends are safe. I may be stuck here..but they're safe. "Will you miss me?" He asked wiggling his eyes brows. I chuckled and nodded. "Maybe a little." I said honestly.

He seems a little surprised by my answer. He glanced a true tree trunk then back to me as if debating something. I was about to ask what was wrong with him when he started speaking.

"So the night I was tricked and locked here..my sister's magic was gone. She made it disappear. I've relived that night a million times and I finally connected the dots. She hid her magic in the knife I left in her." He explained.

Why is he telling me this? "So I of course figured out where she put it." He added and began digging around until he pulled out a knife. I narrowed my eyes at him. This stalling tactic is just annoying.

He tilted his head. "I took her magic." he said with a confident look. "Good for you." I said annoyed. "And I have the spell..which no longer needs blood..I think I can leave now." He said smirking slowly. What..?

My eyes widened as I realized what this was. He's not letting me go..he's fucking leaving me! Before I could react he plunged the knife into my neck. I gasped and began choking immediately. I held myself up by grabbing his shoulder. The warm blood ran down my neck.

For a split moment I saw a small hint of regret..but it vanished just like that. "I'm going home.." he mumbled as my eyes rolled to the back of my head.

Everything went black.

My eyes shot open and I gasped. I grabbed my neck to feel the blood..But the knife was gone..and the wound healed. Kai! I jumped up and ran to where the car should be.

My heart dropped to see it gone. He's gone..he tricked me! I'm an idiot! I played right into it! I felt tears burning my eyes. He's probably home already..and by tomorrow he will be gone.

I need to get a car and get home myself. Quickly. Otherwise..everyone I love could be in danger. Elena..Bonnie..even Damon. I have to hurry.

I just missed the eclipse by seconds. I just pulled into mystic falls and I quickly got out of the car and ran to the door Kai needs to be in. I jumped in to see a broken ascendant..he's home..with my friends. And I'm stuck here..alone..

I fell to my knees and began sobbing uncontrollably. "No! No! No! No! No!" I screamed over and over and over until I was just sitting there crying with no noise.

How could I let this happen? I have to go through Bonnie's witch book..I have to find another way out. I have to.

I stood up and ran back to the house. I stepped in and immediately realized I'm partially sad because I miss Kai. Stupid emotions! He stabbed me in the neck and I miss him!

God! I found the book in Bonnie's room and took it to the living room. I began flipping through it. Kai found a way to leave without Bennett blood..I can find a way too.
