chapter thirty two

It was an hour before the party and people are already here. Its at the grill obviously. Matt is coming. I haven't seen him since I came back..so I'm looking forward to that. Elena told me about him coming.

"Ready to get completely drunk?" Bonnie asked as Jeremy held her from behind. "Always." Damon chimed in. Elena playfully punched his shoulder. "So Kai is coming?" Bonnie asked. Everyone looked at me.

I nodded. "Yeah. He said he was." I said watching the bartender getting us drinks. People were already coming in. The music and speakers are almost done. "So..how is he?" Elena asked. I looked back and knew what they all thought. "We aren't​ getting together." I said cutting to the point.

Everyone looked a little surprised. "You're not? But don't you like him?" Elena asked. "No. I mean I thought I did. But I only want friendship." I said trying to explain. "Hey guys." Alaric said walking in. "Hey Alaric." I said smiling.

When he looked at me guilt flashed over his face. Before I could question it Damon stole him and walked to the bar with him. They have the best friendship. Even though Damon killed and turned his wife..it's history though.

Everyone seemed to drop the Kai subject. "Okay so people should be getting here soon. Wanna go shot some pool?" Jeremy asked Bonnie. "I'll win." she said smiling. "We'll see." he chuckled as they walked off leaving me and Elena alone.

"Oh Tyler is coming with Matt. Forgot to tell you." she said. I nodded. I never really liked Tyler. He always seemed..so self centered but I don't know him very well at all so I guess we could still be friends. Maybe.

"So you and Kai aren't gonna hook up?" she asked bringing up Kai again. "We're better as friends." I said firmly. "You want that though? I thought you liked him?" she asked. I nodded. "I do as a friend." I confirmed.

"Fine. I'll drop it. But Damon and I are pretty sure he likes you. I mean the way he worried about you. It was adorable." she commented. "Thank you for dropping it." I said sarcastically. She smiled and raised her hands.

"Fine I'll back off. Your love life." she said laughing. "Thank you." I said smiling. Just then some people walked in. The early birds have arrived.

Its nearly two in the morning and to say the least the party was a blast. The music was booming. The bartender left the place and instead of locking up he's letting Matt run the place. We have to start clearing out soon or the place will be closed tomorrow so we can clean.

I was making my way outside to get some air. I've lost Elena in the crowd along with Bonnie and everyone. The party was bigger than I expected.

I made my way to the alley and took some deep breaths. I shouldn't have had all those drinks. "Hey there.." I turned to see Kai walking to me with a drink. I smiled. "Hey Kai." I said how leaning against the wall.

"You okay?" I asked seeing he was struggling to walk straight. He's wasted. "Mhm..just..Well just drunk." He chuckled. In that moment he tripped over his own feet. He's gonna fall.

I vamp sped over to him and grabbed his shoulders keeping him up. In the blink of an eye his hands flew to my waist and I was against the wall. My breath for hitched in my throat. "Lilly.." Kai breathed. My looked at him to see lust all in his eyes.

"Kai..what are you doing..?" I asked not liking how close he was. My entire body was hot. I don't know why..but this is getting me hot. "I want to kiss you.." he said. The scent of his achohole hit me. He's drunk..he doesn't mean it. "You're drunk.." I mumbled.

He moved his head closer. Our lips were too close. I turned my head to the right. Is he insane?! His breath was fanning my ear. "You want me too." he whispered.

I shoved him backwards and collected myself. "Good Night Kai." I said firmly and began to walk past him. Kai quickly grabbed my wrist and going me back against the wall. He was rough. I gasped. He placed both arms on each side of me. He trapped me.

"Just admit it." he said locking eyes with me. "Kai stop it.." I whimpered. He bit his lip. He leaned in again. I turned my head again. "We're just friends.." I whispered closing my eyes when his skin brushed my neck as he put my hair behind my ear. I felt his lips brush against my ear sending shivers through me.

"You want me just as bad. I can tell." He whispered. His words making me hotter. He was right..but I don't want this..I can't. I was about to shove him and run but my mind went blank when I felt his lips on my cheek.

"Kai.." I breathed. "Lilly.." he moaned as he pressed his body to mine more. He was trailing his lips down my neck. I was breathing heavily. I cant let this happen.

"Stop!" I screamed and shoved him back with all my force. He slammed into the wall behind me. "Kai..obviously you can't do that..you can't be my friend if you feel the need to do this.." I said as he grunted and got up.

"Go home Kai. Leave me alone..I don't want to see you anymore." I said firmly even though the words and his facial reaction was tearing my heart up. Why am I feel like this? I don't like him. I cant.

"Lilly please..I'm sorry." He said taking a step to me. I shook my head making him stop. "I mean it Kai. Leave me alone." I said with a strong voice. Which I'm not feeling right now.

I vamp sped and ran home.
