chapter fourty

The sun is down. I just heard Elena and some others come in. Matt and Tyler must have went home. Stefan and Caroline too I guess. It's just Alaric Bonnie Damon and Elena.

I was laying in my bed. I've taken a shower and just laid here all day worried and bored out of my mind. "He left town." Alaric snapped at me from my door. What?

I got to my feet and shook my head. "Prove it." I said harshly. He threw a balled up piece of paper at me. I caught it and felt everyone watching me as I read it.

'Lilly or whoever finds this. In sorry. I'm not coming back. I want to live' it read. This cant be? "Well what now? Gonna track him down?" I asked Alaric feeling my heart drop as I fought back tears.

"No. He will come back. For you." Damon said sympathetically. They're using me as bait?! "Unless he lied just to sleep with her." Alaric mumbled.

I vamp sped to him and punched him in the face making his bone shatter and mine in my hand. He spit out blood. My anger lowered as I realized the wall is gone and I can leave.

"You're all idiots. We could work this out. You don't have to hurt anyone else." I said trying one last time. "No. Just Kai." Alaric spat. He turned and I stood there until I heard his car leaving.

"Are you really going to do this to me?" I asked banking in the best friend card. "Lilly you can't see clearly because of your feelings. He killed Joe and Alaric's kids. I know we seem like the bad guys right now..but you'll understand one day." Elena said gently.

I shook my head. I actually have a plan since I assumed they wouldn't back down now. But I can't tell Kai. I'm not sure he would be okay with it. If he was telling the truth..which I feel he was..then he will be okay..but I'll hold off for a bit.

I know he will come back For me..and I know he's watching for the right time. I need to get out of the house. Maybe get my own place. With me living here I'm making it easier for Alaric to get to Kai.

I walked out to my closet and slipped on jeans and a red tank top. I need to go for a walk and go over my plan again. I know when to do it..I know I'll have to fill Bonnie in..and I know it's crazy. But I'm willing. Because I love him.

I walked out of my room to see Elena and Damon in the living room whispering. "I want my own place." I said bluntly. "Lilly.." Elena started but I cut her off. "I know you're all gonna be watching me to get to Kai. Fine. I can accept that. But lets make it a challenge." I said bluntly again.

Damon smirked. "Knew she wouldn't go down so easily." He mumbled. "Fine..but Lilly you need to really think about this. Is he worth it?" Elena asked. I smiled. "I have. And he is." I said and went back into my room to pack. I already know where I want to stay.

There is this one house on the outskirt of town. It has a back yard pool two bed and two bath. I've always liked the house. I want it. I'll live there. Besides then it'll make it even harder to keep eyes on me at all times.

Its perfect. I just need to wait for Kai to come back to me..and I should let Bonnie know soon. She's the key part in the entire plan.

If she doesn't back me..I don't know what I'll do. She's my only plan.
