As I walked through the glass doors of school, I dreaded the day even more. It was Friday, and it had been a grand total of 6 days since Edward and I had that massive fight and we still hadn’t spoken. I decided that, seeing as today was the last day of the week I should talk to him today. I mean, it had been completely impossible the other days of the week.
Tuesday I didn’t want to see him.
Wednesday he always got taken away by that sl*t Megan. And, might I add, he didn’t do much to stop it.
Yesterday he was away.
And by the looks of it, he was away. Again.
That’s it. I’ve given up on him. He is absolutely dead to me now. Normally, I would talk to Hayley about this, but she was off getting ready to leave for her aunts lake house today. And if she usually isn’t here, I talk to Liam but of course, he is packing for Canada. Because they are never away on the same days, I usually just go to Nate out of choice even if they are both here but of course Mr. I’m-too-good-to-break-the-ice-first won’t talk to me. Still.
I sighed and made my way to my locker, and as I started to get my books out, realisation hit me. Nate had people to sit with when we were fighting. His mates on the football team. I, on the other hand had no one. Edward and I are ‘taking a break’. I ran a hand through my hair in frustration while trying to sort out my head. Then, it hit me. I had a sister that would support me no matter what. I shut my locker and quickly made my way into the courtyard and over to Taylor.
I tapped her on the shoulder and she turned around, looking at me confused. “Hey umm… what’s going on?”
I sighed and looked at the floor. “Umm… Tay… I have a sisterly favour to ask you.”
I could sense she rolled her eyes and then said “Yeah, Aly what’s wrong?”
“Could I please sit with you today at recess and lunch? I got no one…”
As much as she loved me, I knew this would be a stretch. She grimaced slightly and said “Why do you have to? You have three perfectly good friends to sit with.”
I shook my head and said “Umm no I don’t. Liam and Hayley are away packing and Nate isn’t talking to me. We’re kind of in a fight.”
She groaned and then her boyfriend, Jake, came from behind her and hugged her around the waist. She squealed and then once realizing who it was, relaxed. I let out a small giggle as he pressed his lips to her neck. He rested his chin on her shoulder and said “What’s wrong babe?”
She sighed and introduced us. “Jake, baby, this is my sister Aly. Aly, Jake, Jake, Aly.” She waved a hand between us and he smiled, reached out a hand in greeting and I shook it. I smiled back as he said “Nice to meet you. Just letting you know, your sister is amazing.” She giggled and elbowed him in the stomach. “Shut up.” She muttered.
I laughed and smiled “Yeah, she's ok.”
He smiled and asked again “So, what’s wrong?” Turning to Taylor as he asked the question.
She turned to face him, twisting around so she had her back to me and was locked in his embrace. I took this as an opportunity to see who it was my sister is going out with. Although he isn't my type, he is actually pretty hot! He had toned arms, was lightly tanned with black hair that was styled in a cute way, a small fringe swept to the side (Chace Crawford style). His eyes were bright blue with a faint black outline to them. They were cute together.
But I quickly snapped my eyes away as I saw her turn around to face me again. “Look, I talked to Jake and he reckons you can sit with us.”
I smiled gratefully and said “Thank you so much!” I smiled and hugged them both. Jake was laughing and he said “It’s fine. Your my girl’s sister. I’m obliged to look after you too.”
