I woke the next morning to light streaming thorough my open blinds and beaming down on my face. I could feel Nate spooning me, his arm draped across my waist lazily. I smiled slightly and then realized that my Mum and in particular, my Dad had no idea he'd slept over. In my bed. My eyes snapped open and I turned around in his arms, coming face to face with him.

His grip on me tightened and his eyes fluttered open. “Morning Aly.” He murmured. He looked down at his arms and realized what he had done in his sleep, because he immediately took his arms off me and rolled onto his back.

I frowned slightly but quickly recovered so he wouldn’t see. I smiled and said “Morning. Sleep well?”

He nodded and was about to open his mouth to say something when we both heard footsteps coming down the hall, slowly but surely. His head snapped to mine quickly. I knew those steps. “Oh no. That’s my Dad!” I whisper yelled. I moved out of the way then, so he could roll off and onto the floor. “Get under the bed and shut up or else I’ll end your life!” I whisper yelled again.

He chuckled just as my Dad knocked on the door. I laid down sleepily and tried to sound as lethargic as I could. “Who is it?” I murmured.

He opened the door right as I rolled over to face him. I tried as much as I could to make it look like I was sleeping as my dad said “Good morning honey, did you sleep well?”

I nodded and answered “Yeah I was sleeping well. Until you woke me!” I stuck my tongue out at him and I heard a slightly muffled chuckle and I coughed to cover it up.

My dads eyebrows furrowed slightly as he said “What do you mean, I woke you? It’s nearly half past 10…”

I laughed quietly and said “You know me, I love to sleep. So dad what’s up? You never come to my room in the mornings unless” I groaned “Unless we have something on that I didn’t know about!” I really couldn’t be bothered today.

He nodded and smiled at me. “We have been invited by your sister to go to Jake’s football game today. I think it would be a good way for us to get out of the house as a family.”

I groaned and flopped back down onto my bed, burying my head into my pillow and said “Daaad… I don’t wanna go! I can’t be bothered!” but it came out all muffled, making my dad laugh.

He just said “Well you're not getting out of this one so get up and get ready, we have to go in an hour and a half!”

I just nodded grudgingly and as my dad closed the door behind him, Nate came out from under my bed and laughed quietly at me. I playfully punched him in the arm and said “Hey! What’s so funny?!”

He tried and failed to stop his laughter while saying “Nothing, just, just you. You're so cute when you don’t want to do something.”

I smiled and flopped down on my bed, looking up at his figure, which was silhouetted slightly due to the light filtering through my window. He sat on the side of my bed and looked at me while reaching for his phone. “I should go so that you can… you know, get ready for your day. I’ll see you tomorrow?”

I sighed and nodded, getting up as he did and looking up at him, his big brown eyes boring into mine. “Okay umm… yeah I’ll see you tomorrow then. And thanks for, you know, staying with me.” I gestured over to my bed, the sheets crumpled and messy.
