Fawn POV

The alarm clock rang and I groaned, rolling over and pressing the snooze button. I did not want to leave my bed whatsoever. I closed my eyes in hopes of falling asleep again, and I almost succeeded, until my mom pushed open the door so hard that it banged against the wall.

"Good morning, good morning!" She sang while dancing around.

I pulled the covers over my head and bent the pillow around my ears.

She came even closer and sang louder. "Come on! Up, up, up! I made pancakes!" She said as she pulled the covers off of me, making me shiver from the sudden cold. I sighed and got up. My mom grabbed my hand and dragged me into the kitchen.

I looked at the pancakes and there was a smiley face made out of fruit. I couldn't help but smile, she really did go out of her way.

"Well... do you like it?" She asked anxiously as I tried them.

"They're delicious." I reassured her, giving her a cheeky grin. I finished off my breakfast, brushed my teeth and got dressed.

"I'm leaving!" I yelled as I put on my shoes.

She came to the door and grimaced when she saw me. "Skinny jeans and a hoodie?"

"I'm not going to school to impress anyone." I replied as I walked up to her and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Well, I'm off. See you around two!" And with that, I took a deep breath and walked out the door.

I finally got to school. Everywhere you looked, people were hugging each other, glad to see one another after a long break. I looked around for Elizabeth but I couldn't find her so I went to my locker.

"Boo!" Someone yelled from behind me and I screamed. I looked around to see if anyone noticed before I turned around.

Elizabeth grinned widely at me before encasing me in a hug, squeezing me until I couldn't breath. "I missed you so much! How are you doing?"

"I guess a little bit better..." I answered uncertaintly. I wasn't quite sure what to make out of all the things that happened to me recently. "I have so much to tell you. I am going to need your advice O' Might Guru." I was usually quiet and reserved, never showing off my true self, but with Elizabeth, it was like I couldn't help but be my true self. She had the gift of drawing people to her with her happy attitude and caring eyes. But, even though she was popular, she was like me and that is why we got along together so well. Both her parents died in a car accident when a drunk driver smashed into their car. Now she lives with her aunt.

"Let me see your schedule." She demanded, holding out her hand.

I gave it to her and she squealed. "We have three classes together and the same lunch!"

"Which classes?" I asked.

"Algebra and Trigonometry, English Composition, and Psychology."

"That's awesome! Now let's get going to class." I said as the bell rang.

We headed off to class and I picked the seat that was way in the back.

Elizabeth pouted. "Why don't you sit near the front for once? It's not as bad as you think."

"I'll stay back here where I can doodle as much as I want and rest my head against the window."

She grumbled. "Fine, but I'm sitting in the middle." She found a seat about four desks in front of me and put her back pack in the seat.

Other students slowly came in and soon, the whole room was full. The last one that came in sat in the seat in front of me.

The teacher still hadn't come and everyone was talking. Elizabeth was already making friends, talking with at least four other people. She motioned me over to come and join the group but I just shook my head and sunk into my seat.
