My phone went off, and me being the person I am, just thought it was someone liking my tweet so I just ignored it for a while. As my phone started to go off more I finally picked up my phone and saw a text. It was from my friend, Alex, who loves racing just as much as I do.
Alex: GET. ON. TWITTER. NOW.
Me: Why? I'm so lazy
A: JUST DO IT
Me: Okay, okay😂
I got onto Twitter. I didn't see anything that was different? What is he talkin- oh. There it is. John Hunter replied to my tweet, that's must be what Ale- then the realization hit me, "HOLY CRAP HE REPLIED TO MY TWEET" I got up and danced around. He had never replied to my tweet ever, so that was pretty awesome.
My tweet: huge congrats to @jhnemechek on the big win today! I hope to see you in victory lane more this year!
His tweet: Thanks. I sure hope to be in victory lane again this year, we'll see what happens!
I can't believe he replied to me. Ahhhh!!
I text Alex back and we're both freaking out. I love how I can be myself around Alex. He gets my love for racing and doesn't call it 'stupid' and 'boring' like everyone else I know. He actually gets it. I'm very glad he's my friend.
As I was talking to Alex I realized someone Dm'd me. As I was about to check it my grandpa got home. I put my phone down and went to meet my grandpa in the kitchen "Hey grandpa" I say going over and giving him a hug
"hey hun" he said hugging me back
"What did you do with your alone time today?" he asked me. I played it cool. My grandpa gets very protective when a guy tweets me back. It doesn't matter who the person is. "Nothing, I just watched the race" I said trying to contain myself. "That's nice hun, I'm gonna go to bed now" he said climbing up the stairs
"goodnight" I yelled from the kitchen
I go back and sit down on the couch. I realized Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives was on. My favorite show ever. I pick up my phone, only to realize it died. I go to find my charger but I can't find it anywhere. 'I must've left it at work, I'll just get it back tomorrow' I thought to myself. It's not that big of a deal. It's not like I have important people texting me, I laugh to myself.
I wonder who the person who Dm'd me was
Guess I'll find out tomorrow...
