EDITED
Morgan's POV
Luke is on my mind and I wonder if he is thinking about me. It feels weird, thinking that I am double timing Luke and Tommy, but in reality, I'm single.
"Hey," Jack says as he takes a seat next to me at out usual lunch table in the cafeteria. All our friends are up getting lunch and they're at the back of the line.
"Hey, babes," I reply. "How has school been?"
"Ehh," he says. "I have a question for you."
"Shoot," I say.
"We've been friends for a while now, correct?"
"Correct." I become nervous.
"I was wondering if you would like to join me for dinner Friday night."
My heart beats and beats and I wonder why he wants to have dinner with me. I think of Luke and realize that Jack doesn't know anything.
Jack somehow sees worry on my face and says, "No, no, no. Not as in a date, Morgan. I don't do dates. But as in a way for friends, me and you, to talk and enjoy each other's company without out other friends around." I let out a sigh in relief that I isn't know I was holding in.
"I'd love to. Any place in mind?"
"I was thinking of the new place the opened downtown last month," he responds.
"Hurney's Grill? I've been dying to go there," I say.
"Yeah that one."
"You're a great friend, Jack."
He smirks and says, "I know."
"I can't believe I am going out to dinner with the Jack, the school's bad boy," I say, fanning my face, acting like the girls around the school that drool over him.
"Consider yourself lucky, babe," Jack says then winks at me. He gets up and leaves the cafeteria, probably to smoke out back someplace where he won't get caught. Even if he does get caught, he wouldn't care.
I feel my phone vibrate against my thigh and I look down. Noticing a text from Tommy, I open it up.
From Tommy: Hey beautiful :)
I write back: Hey handsome :)
From Tommy: Would you like to join me for dinner Saturday?
I start to think, wondering if I have any plans. Coming up short, I tell him yes and that 7 sounds good.
I shut m phone off and up to see my friends coming back to the table.
"I saw Jack," says Lyric. "What did he want?"
"Just wanted to tell me he got laid again last night," I lie easily.
"Typical," she replies.
"Any plans for this Friday?" Haley asks the table.
"None", "Nope", "No", I hear from all over the table and Haley looks at me for my answer.
"I do have plans," I tell her and she frowns a bit. "We're all going out for dinner together."
"That's too bad," says Haley. "I was thinking we could go to the movies."
"You guys go ahead," I say. "It's fine."
"Are you sure?" Asks Arianna.
"I'm positive."
"Okay then," Haley responds. "I'm sorry that you won't be able to make it."
"It's okay."
The rest of the school day goes by and I take Jack home before going home with Luke. We really didn't communicate much in the car and it's just awkward between the two of us for some reason.
I shrug it from my mind and head upstairs to my room to do my homework, or else I wouldn't be able to focus with Luke around me. I'll have him and Tommy on my mind anyways but hopefully I'll be able to focus enough to get my work done.
