Morgan's POV
"Where are you going?" Luke asks me Friday night as I go to the front door to leave.
"Away," I reply and open the door.
"What does 'away exactly' mean?" He asks as he follows behind me. Why should he be concerned? It's not like we are dating or anything. I can do whatever I want and I don't need his permission.
"It doesn't matter," I snap at him, turning around and he is shocked. "Stop being up my butt 24/7. I should be able to go somewhere without you having to know!"
"Morgan, I'm-" I walk out of the house and slam the door behind me before I could hear the rest of what he was going to say. I get in my car and start it, driving to the Hurney's Grill downtown.
The place is nice. It's located near the mall and other restaurants, but it really sticks out with the big "NOW OPEN!" sign hanging on the building.
I find a parking spot in the packed parking lot just because a car was leaving and I took the spot they previously took up.
Turning my car off, I grab my clutch and get out, making sure to lock all my doors.
When I get to the door leading to the inside, I see Jack waiting on a bench on his phone. I walk to him and he looks up then turns his phone, putting it in his pocket when he sees me.
"Hey," he says as he gets up.
"Hey, Jack," I say with a smile. I'm glad we could have dinner together as friends.
"You look great," he says, looking me up and down. I'm wearing a simple black dress with a light black cardigan over it, matching my black wedges with it. My hair is up in a neat bun.
"That's funny," I say. "I never look good, but you sure look amazing."
Jack is wearing black skinny jeans, black boots, and a plain blue T-shirt.
"Thank you, babe," he says and motions to the door. He opens it for me and I thank him, going inside with him behind me.
"This place is awesome!" I say as I looks around.
"I agree," says Jack.
"Welcome to Hurney's Grill. I am Mike the host. I'll show you the way to your table," a middle aged man says then guides us through the busy restaurant to the back where a vacant table for two is.
"Thank you," Jack says to the man. He nods then leaves.
"Let the dinner begin," Jack says.
